Flemington hosts a nice 10 race card on Saturday and despite it being the bridesmaid to the Gold Coast Magic Millions meeting, it's not a bad program. Race one starts at 12:20pm (AEDT) and the Quaddie legs are from races 7 to 10. The track remains Good and 27 degrees is expected on course. The 2-year-olds start us off up the straight, and we three tips for the card below!

Flemington Racing Tips: Saturday, January 17th 2026
Race 2: Victorian Bushire Appeal Plate 2520m - 12:50pm (AEDT)
(8) Hot Too Glo hasn’t placed at Flemington and hasn’t placed over this distance yet but he gets weight relief for this race which will help. On January 3 at Geelong he settled and battled on well for 3rd in a photo finish and before that he was also 3rd and again it was a close finish. He will go forward again and he should be running top 3 again.
(2) Eagle Angel will settle handy and gets Dry ground again which she likes. Finished 4th against most of her rivals here at Geelong last start and is racing well. Others have less weight though and she has drawn well in barrier 1 so she will not get caught wide like she did 2 starts back when 5th at Pakenham.
(9) Navy Heart won on December 12 at Geelong and then was beaten a nose at the same track a month later against most of these. Drops 2.5kg in weight for this and she look ready for this distance.
(8) Hot Too Glo Each-Way
$5.50/$1.90 (1 unit)
Race 4: Black Caviar Lightning Race Day February 14 1800m - 1:58pm (AEDT)
(14) Yes I Know has run close up placings in his last couple and looks ready to fire now. On December 6, after winning a trial prior, he was 3rd to Sneaky Sunrise in a right finish and then on New Years Eve was 2nd after running on well from midfield at this track. He seemed to like Flemington and I can see him settling midfield and running over the top of them.
(2) Fiorenot has drawn wide in 13 which hinders his chances a little. Has 3 wins and 3 wins to his name from 7 starts on Good tracks though and he did beat Yes I Know last start. Does have to carry 61kg though but he is proven at the distance.
(6) Dark Simba is very fit and looks like a good chance but I think he may race better on wet ground. Gets a senior jockey on (Luke Currie) and he was backed into favourite last start.
(14) Yes I Know WIN
$2.30 (3 units)
Race 9: Thankyou Volunteers Trophy 1400m - 4:58pm (AEDT)
(11) Codigo has raced well at this track previously and the consistent gelding will settle handy from a good barrier in 2 and should get a crack at them over the final 200m. He led at Geelong last start when 3rd beaten a half a length but this time I think he might settle behind the leader and get some cover. Been up for a while and needs a win now. 100 percent fit.
(6) Recon will have to try and cross from barrier 11 to settle handy but is a winner and loves Dry tracks. Was favourite when 4th at Cranbourne last start but a bigger track here should help.
(1) Ndola is another who loves Good tracks and is very consistent. He was midfield at Geelong last start before finishing 2nd behind Harry’s Yacht and if that horse wins earlier on in the day then his chances grow. Blinkers are on and this is his 3rd run in since a freshen up.
(11) Codigo E/W
$8.00 (1 Unit)
