Former AFL footballer Brendon Fevola didn’t experience the joys of much success during his troubled AFL career. However the polarising Fevola is finding his niche in reality TV. Who would’ve thought?
With the popular reality TV show I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here entering its final week, Fevola is surprisingly installed as the $2.25 favourite at Australian sports betting site Sportsbet.
His late charge is largely thanks to his stomach-churning efforts in an eating challenge on Tuesday night.
“Both the boys were unbelievable in the bush tucker trial but Brendan went above and beyond to win that red star and has probably won over the punters as a result,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Will Byrne.
Fevola has taken over favouritism from former NRL star Paul “The Chief” Harragon who is now out to $2.50 at Sportsbet.
Cricket legend Shane Warne is out to a juicy $7.50, and when you consider Warne has a team of PR people pushing his campaign back home and over 2.5 million Twitter followers, that is not a bad price for the spin king.
Singer Anthony Callea ($7.50) and professional reality TV celebrity Laurina Fleure ($14) are the other contenders following the elimination of 90’s TV babe Jo Beth Taylor on Sunday.
Callea is the favourite to leave the jungle next at $2.00 but there has been some money for a shock Shane Warne departure at $5.00.
