Esports Betting Tips: Tuesday, April 14th

April 14th 2020, 12:03pm, By: Mark Prezelj

With no other sports on at the moment, esports continues to dominate the betting landscape, and we are back again with another slate of best bets for the action on Tuesday, the 14th of April. Today we take a look at some of our favourite selections from the DOTA2 and CA:GO titles below.

Esports Betting Tips: CS:GO and Dota2 – Tuesday, April 14th

Gambit vs Cyber Legacy

ESL One Los Angeles 2020 Dota2 Online: Europe & CIS

Gambit and Cyber Legacy will meet this Thursday in what will be a crucial match for both sides, as they look to clinch a playoffs ticket which is slowly slipping out of their hands. Gambit are coming into this match after a convincing 2-0 win over B8, while Cyber Legacy managed to take Vikin.gg to three maps on Sunday but failed to close out the deal and suffered a reverse-sweep (1-2).

Cyber Legacy and Gambit met once before, back in February during ESL One Los Angeles 2020 CIS Closed Qualifier, where Cyber Legacy came out ahead 2-0. Not a lot has changed since, besides the departure of Vladimir "Chappie" Kuzmenko from CL, but with Oleg "LastHero" Demidovich as a stand-in, it's safe to say the team did not lose a lot of quality with that roster move. Having said that, Gambit looked very strong this tournament, as they not only defeated Nigma (2-0) but also forced VP into three maps (1-2), which suggests they're ready to avenge their defeat against the struggling CL, who failed to win a single game since round one against B8 (2-1).

Nigma vs Virtus.pro

ESL One Los Angeles 2020 Dota2 Online: Europe & CIS

Nigma are a team that you can't underestimate simply due to the raw talent they field, but it's safe to say that they will be in for a tough match this Tuesday when they meet with the Group A frontrunners Virtus.pro, who have yet to drop a single game thus far.

Virtus.pro looked nearly unstoppable this tournament, having won all five games, while dropping only two maps which is an incredible achievement. What's more, they completely crushed OG on Sunday and if that proves anything it's that the online format is where this team will shine. Despite that, however, Nigma field way too stacked roster for us to believe the Russians can produce a clean sweep. They might have done it to OG, but we have to consider OG already lost to Vikin.gg, so perhaps, they're not as strong as you would expect from an organisation that won two back-to-back TI titles.

Expect an exciting fixture, which can easily go both ways. Virtus.pro are priced at around 1.97 to claim the spoils, which makes them a solid pick, but for a safer bet, overs should be considered.

Virtus.pro vs Spirit

Home Sweet Home Cup 2

Both Virtus.pro and Team Spirit are coming into this match after suffering a defeat against BIG. Virtus.pro got swept 0-2, while Spirit managed to put up more resistance and pushed their German adversaries to three maps (1-2), which is a good starting point for this predicting and perhaps one of the key factors we need to take into the account.

It's also worth noting that Team Spirit looked much stronger in their bout with BIG as the score would suggest, as they had a legitimate chance to win, yet were a bit unlucky in a couple of their duels. In fact, we would even go on to say Spirit could've swept BIG if they were a bit luckier. Furthermore, Spirit are entering this bout with an impressive 4-1 record, with their wins coming against North, forZe, SMASH and Syman, so it's hard to question their form.

Because this is an online tournament, we could be in for a very close match, but due to the recent surge in form of Spirit and VP's questionable morale following the organisation’s announcement which unveiled they're set to make roster changes in the summer, we have to side with Spirit to come out ahead and defeat their regional rivals.
