Rooster vs Paradox
LPL Pro League Season 5
Rooster are on a six-game win streak, which includes wins against Mako, Chiefs and TRUCKERS WITH ATTITUDE, so there is no denying Rooster are in great form ahead of this bout and will be hard to stop. Paradox will surely have something to say about that, and even though they have lost their last two games against ERTEX and AVANT, Paradox have managed a six-game winning streak before that, when they took down Incept, PC419 and Bantz amongst others Oceanic CS:GO teams.
The problem, with Paradox, however, is that they are a somewhat decent team that can consistently defeat teams of similar quality, but usually struggle when faced against top-ranked teams
Rooster and Paradox have met five times in 2020 and have nine maps between them across those five meetings. Looking at their previous clashes, there is a clear trend of close results, as both teams consistently reached double digits on each map played. Their last match took place about two months ago at the ESEA MDL Season 34 Australia, where Rooster secured a close 16-14 win on Inferno.
While I believe we are in for another close match, I am also confident saying Rooster will be too much for Paradox to handle. Rooster are in a piping-hot form and have not long ago crushed teams which are better than Paradox, whereas the latter have failed to impress with their recent two losses. Rooster have also won eight maps out of last nine played against Paradox, which further proves Rooster are the team to beat here. Bet on Rooster to win with a clean sweep!
Illuminar vs AVEZ
Eden Arena Malta Vibes Cup 3
Group C opening match of the Eden Arena Malta Vibes Cup 3 will serve us with another Polish CS:GO spectacle featuring Illuminar and AVEZ, who will look to win and being their journey through the competition on the right foot.
Illuminar are entering this match with a streak of three losses under their belts. They have lost to Syman, Budapest Five and LDLC, and to be completely honest, none of those teams are what you would call good teams, which makes me wonder how good Illumunar actually are. AVEZ, on the other side are 3-2 from their last five. They lost to Hard Legion and Endpoint but managed to defeat Wisla Krakow, CR4ZY and FATE.
AVEZ and Illuminar met a couple of days ago during the Nine to Five 1 tournament, where AVEZ crushed Illuminar with 16-2 on Train and 16-8 on Nuke to win the series with a perfect 2-0 score, so it's fair to assume they're better prepared to claim the spoils here.
In the said match, AVEZ's trio of Kuba "Markoś" Markowski, Paweł "byali" Bieliński and Kamil "KEi" Pietkun all played exceptionally well, however, it was Markoś who stood out with 47 frags and an incredibly high 1.68 HLTV rating. On the side of Illuminar, no player managed to get even close to those numbers.
AVEZ have been on a tear in recent weeks and are currently looking like the best Polish CS:GO team. Even though they lost to Endpoint and Hard Legion, those two are not exactly bad teams, so AVEZ deserve some praise for wining one map against both.
From what I have seen, AVEZ are on a whole another level compared to Illuminar, who will need a miracle to upset the favourites. I expect AVEZ to recreate their performance from their last meeting with Illuminar and claim another comfortable win. Bet on AVEZ to cover the round handicap and further solidify themselves as the top Polish CS:GO team.
NEW Esports vs T1
ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League
The second round of ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League lower bracket playoffs will see NEW Esports clash with T1 for the second time in their history. Their most recent and only clash happened last month during the first week of ONE Esports SEA League, where NEW Esports won 2-0. but I don't see that result as an indication of how this fixture will play out.
Throughout ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League, both teams managed the same 3-2-4 record and 8-10 map differential. Throughout the last two weeks, however, NEW Esports did not win a single game but instead lost to Reality Rift, Geek Fam, Fnatic and BOOM Esports. T1, on the other side, defeated BOOM Esports, drew with TNC Predator, and lost to Neon Esports and Geek Fam.
T1 are entering this bout with a 1-1-3 record, while NEW Esports managed a slightly worse 1-0-4 record. NEW Esports’ only win came against a C-tier team Vice eSports, which is not something I value highly. Besides their win against Vice eSports, NEW Esports lost five out of out their last six games (all 0-2) which includes a defeat against Symmetric, who are similar to Vice eSports a much weaker team compared to T1.
I am not too happy with NEW Esports' form and even though they managed to take down T1 last month, I don’t believe they stand a chance to repeat their success this Thursday. Bet on T1 to claim a revenge win against NEW Esports!
