PACT vs Sangal Esports - ESEA Season 42: Advanced Division – Europe Playoffs
PACT and Sangal Esports will meet on Monday, September 26, in the third round of ESEA Season 42 playoffs, for the first time with their current rosters. Sangal are the expected favorites to win, considering they finished the group stage with a 10-2 record and have looked good so far in the playoffs.
In the first round, they defeated LFO (2-1) and then added a 2-0 sweep against Brugge. But while those results look good, Sangal also needed an overtime reverse-sweep against LFO and they nearly lost the final map against Brugge (16-11, 16-14), so I wouldn’t say that their performances so far have been great.
PACT were 8-4 in the group stage, but they have shown a lot more in the playoffs, with wins against ALTERNATE aTTaX (2-1) and JANO Esports (2-1). They came close to losing against ALTERNATE aTTaX, but looked in full control against JANO, and played well on Ancient, where they trailed 5-10 at half time, yet still won 16-13.
If I were to pick a team based on their achievements this season, Sangal would be an easy choice, but from what I’ve seen from them lately, there is no real reason to believe they deserve to be 1.28 favourites for this match. So I’ll gladly take PACT to cause an upset at 3.50.

SINNERS Esports vs Hotspurs - Elisa Invitational Fall 2022
Following a catastrophic performance against EC Kyiv in the second round, SINNERS Esports will now meet hotspurs in the Round 3 Low Matches at Elisa Invitational. Hotspurs, like SINNERS, haven’t won much at this stage, with two losses against Sprout (0-2) and EYEBALLERS (1-2).
They took the series lead against EYEBALLERS, but Hotspurs fell flat on Inferno (10-16) and Overpass (9-16) and lost a very winnable game. So even though Hotspurs haven’t played well, things could be much worse, and this leads me to the offered betting odds on this match, showing Hotspurs as 3.50 underdogs.
The prices don’t make much sense considering SINNERS have won just as many games lately. Moreover, their only two map wins came in overtime, and they were very bad on the remaining four, especially against EC Kyiv, who beat them 16-11 on Inferno and 16-4 on Overpass.
I don’t have high expectations for either team, but I also don’t believe one is much stronger than the other. This match can end both ways, so I’m taking Hotspurs at 3.50.

SKADE X vs Sashi Esports - Elisa Invitational Fall 2022
As the only remaining CS:GO team under SKADE’s organisation, SKADE X will look to bounce back following two tough losses in the Elisa Invitational main stage. They’ve lost against Endpoint (0-2) and Dynamo Eclot (0-2), which is obviously bad, but SKADE X forced overtime in both games, so it’s not like they are as bad as their records suggest.
Against Dynamo Eclot, SKADE X even held an 11-4 lead after the first half on Mirage but then blundered and lost in overtime (15-19). Ancient was much more one-sided, but SKADE X had to start on T-Side (2-13), which didn’t help their cause.
Sashi Esports have won just as many games as SKADE X this stage, with defeats against BLUEJAYS (0-2) and ECSTATIC, who reverse-swept them (1-2) last Monday with 16-8 on Dust 2 and 16-6 on Ancient. Winning just 15 rounds across two maps is bad, but not as bad as Sashi’s 1-16, 9-16 defeat against BLUEJAYS in round one.
With such results, it’s tough to trust Sashi Esports, and I wouldn’t bet on them even though they’re 2.37 underdogs. Still, they’re facing a very inconsistent team, so I expect a scrappy match that should reach the third map.
