It’s the All Star break in the MLB and in some sporting codes this means a quick break, an exhibition game and a little bit of fun. Well not in Baseball. The American League and the Natiuonal League fight it out for the right to gain Home-Field advantage for the World Series. With such big stakes on the line it creates full efforts by everyone involved (unlike some other all-star concepts ). With that in mind let’s take a look at tonight’s game.
Historically the MLB All Star game usually doesn’t heat up until the late innings but tonight there will be fireworks from the very first pitch. Matt Harvey, starting pitcher of the National League, is arguably the best pitcher in baseball right now, but look at the first 3 he will face in the American League Starting Lineup. Mike Trout, Robinson Cano and Miguel Cabrera. If you only watch one inning of baseball this year please watch this. It might be 3-0 before Matt Harvey can blink.
Tonight’s Game will be played at Citi-Field in Flushing, New York City. Known for lower scoring games. The Total has come out at 8.0 and looks to be right on the number. Although with such strong batting line ups, I’m leaning towards the over.
The starting lineups of the American League look far superior to that of the National League. The National League are probably in better for,m but on paper its the American League lineup for mine. Especially if we consider the reserves who will play a big role in determining the outcome tonight.
With so many side stories and so much on the line for the winning team it should be a great night in New York. We can sit back and watch from our armchairs in Australia on fox sports 2.
