Ballarat Racing Tips: Wednesday, June 11th 2025
Race 3: Manhari Maiden Plate - 1:35pm (AEST)
(5) Morthan Efficient gets his first chance on the Heavy and has drawn well in barrier 2 here. He ran 2nd at this track on May 22 and despite getting beaten a fair way (5L). That run was first up from a spell and I think he will be fitter here with jumpouts behind him too. This maiden looks pretty weak to be honest and this horse will only have to match his most recent effort to finish in the top couple.
(2) Colt Forty Five ran on well last start despite finishing 7th and the Edwards stable does race well at Ballarat. The colt placed (3rd) at Geelong before that and he ran on well to the line on that occasion too.
(7) Southby has had three goes on the Good for no result so a change to the Heavy may suit. Is second up here and he will be fitter for Moody & Coleman.
(5) Morthan Efficient
$3.50 (1 unit)
Race 6: Hygain Winners Handicap - 3:20pm (AEST)
(8) What You Will is resuming here and when first up last prep she ran on well at Werribee to win and Werribee is a track which is hard to make up ground so it was a really good effort. She will likely get back again in this but at this stage there is only 8 horses in the race after an early scratching so he won't have to pass too many to win. Still earning and we will want close to even money for the Place on the Each-Way option.
(9) Auckland is proven on the Heavy and unplaced on the Synthetic so he just might be a wet tracker. Tried hard when 3rd beaten half a length at Mornington last start.
(3) Male Model is resuming here and has run a 2nd over this distance previously. Was near last at the 600m at Hamilton in a weak race but still won. Harder this time. But does get a 3kg claim.
(8) What You Will E/W
$5.50/$1.95 (1u e/w)
Race 7: Sportsbet Feed Handicap - 3:55pm (AEST)
(2) Epice Dieu is 2 from 2 on the Heavy and will start favourite in this race. Last start he was 4th when racing on a Soft track at this track and the downgrade in conditions should suit even more. He is a get back horse and he will be running on and Harry Coffey knows this horses personality pretty well. He hasn’t won in 10 months but he ran a very good 2nd here on April 2 this year and he will take confidence from that effort at this course.
(4) Shubael is going for three in a row after winning at Geelong and Kyneton recently. Will likely sit on speed and will want to be 2-to-3L in front of the fav on the turn. Second try over the Heavy.
(5) Hell Of A Trip ran on well here to score on the Synthetic first up but conditions are different here. Ran 2nd when second up last prep and he should be fitter again in this.
(2) Epice Dieu
$2.80 (1 unit)
