AFL Daily Fantasy Tips 2025: Round 19 Saturday

July 18th 2025, 1:28pm, By: Heath Chick

AFL Fantasy Tips

Another four matches of AFL this Saturday for Round 19 and although the day only offers one team that’s currently inside the top eight, there’s still plenty of interesting angles to tackle this slate on Draftstars.

First up, the Power head to Launceston to try and disrupt the finals campaign of the Hawks - always a tough ask in Launceston. The Swans will then host the Kangaroos and should continue their late season momentum. The two night games are both uninspiring with the struggling Blues and Dees to meet at the MCG, before we get a classic last versus second-last on the ladder with the Tigers heading west to take on the Eagles.

As always, this is all about the daily fantasy and this Saturday slate draws another massive $50,000 prize pool at Draftstars in their main contest, plus more qualifiers for the $1 million AFL Star contest! In addition, there are a variety of alternate contests:

AFL $50,000+ Saturday at Draftstars

AFL $5,000+ Saturday High Roller ($150 Entry) at Draftstars

AFL $3,000+ Saturday Mini ($2 Entry) at Draftstars

AFL Daily Fantasy Lineup Tips: Round 19 Saturday

AFL Round 19 Saturday: Where to Attack?

The Swans are the biggest favourites of the day and they face North Melbourne who concede the league worst to key forwards and inside midfielders over the last ten matches. To make matters worse, the Roos have lost ruckman Tristan Xerri to suspension, so this advantage is only going to increase for the Swans.

The Blues are also in the Top 3 in points conceded to opposition key forwards, although that’s not typically a strength of Melbourne. The Dees are conceding above average points to inside midfielders as well as the opposition designated kicker.

As you would expect from the two worst teams in the league, both West Coast and Richmond concede huge fantasy points in a number of categories. Richmond have been particularly bad in giving up massive points to opposition defenders. Often when two bad teams meet, it’s more a case of finding a player with enough quality to take advantage of such a favourable match up as often quality is few and far between!

Game script: Swans forwards/mids/ruck, Demons key forwards, Blues mids, Eagles defenders

AFL Round 19 Saturday: Our Value Fantasy Picks

Jack Petruccelle ($6,500) has been named for the Eagles for just his second match of the season after 24 disposals in the WAFL last week returning from a shoulder injury. Petruccelle has always promised a lot and rarely delivered, but he does come in at near-minimum price and has the potential to hit value against the lowly Tigers. Definitely a sub watch though but could provide some sneaky value if he starts on the field.

Jacob van Rooyen ($7,790) is typically not one I like to trust but he was good last week against North and gets the gun matchup here against a frail Blues. Had 17 disposals and a goal last week for 76 points, and 66 points the week before against the Crows, so we’d like to see something above that mark again.

Tyrell Dewar ($8,560) / Tom Cole ($8,880) are both in play for the Eagles against a leaky Richmond side who give up huge numbers to the opposition defence. Both Dewar and Cole offer good potential upside for their price point. Cole has three 80+ scores this season, including an 83 last week in his return to the side, while Dewar posted a 115 last month against the Blues. Great ceilings at a budget price and should correlate well together.

AFL Round 19 Saturday: Our Mid-Priced Fantasy Picks

Harley Reid ($11,440) has been in good form recently with three scores of 91+ across the last month. The biggest flaw in his game remains conceding free kicks. He gave away 6 last week and still scored 103 against Port with 27 disposals and 7 tackles. It feels like a big breakout game is not far away, so perhaps a match up against the weak Tigers could be the one for him to go large.

Jake Lloyd ($12,890) has been in great form since returning to the side after being dropped with scores of 116, 110 and 90 in his last three weeks. Lloyd has been pushing forward and hitting the scoreboard with 6 goals during this time, and he should have the chance to do that again here against the Kangaroos.

AFL Round 19 Saturday: Our Premium Fantasy Picks

Errol Gulden ($16,310) hasn’t missed a beat since returning from major injury a month ago with a couple of 120+ scores already in the bank. Gulden’s run through the middle has been electric and there’s no doubt that the Swans love it in his hands to distribute into their forward line. With a match up against the Roos, there’s no one that will be able to go with Gulden and I’m expecting another massive score.

Brodie Grundy ($17,460) comes in with a huge price tag but it’s fully justified given his recent form and incredibly favourable match up here. Grundy has returned nine scores above 111+ in a row now, with a high of 139. His form is sublime. He faces North missing their #1 ruck, so will only have to contend with the undersized Callum Coleman-Jones ($9,040) and Brynn Teakle ($8,140). Grundy should monster this matchup in every way with hitouts, clearances and around the ground on his way to a slate-leading score.

Weather Report Saturday July 19th 2025

Launceston - Light rain, 11 degrees.

Sydney - Sunny, 17 degrees.

Melbourne - Cloudy, 13 degrees.

Perth - Partly cloudy, 17 degrees.

Possibly some light rain in Launceston in cold conditions, and the sportsbooks have adjusted the points line accordingly. Don’t expect a high scoring match. Otherwise it should be fine around the country.
