2026 PGA Tour: Memorial Tournament Betting Tips

June 2nd 2026, 7:36pm, By: Andy Rosos

The PGA TOUR heads to Ohio this week for one of its most prestigious and tradition-rich events, with the Memorial Tournament celebrating its 50th anniversary at the iconic Muirfield Village Golf Club. Hosted by golfing legend Jack Nicklaus, the Memorial has long been regarded as one of the toughest non-major tests on the schedule and remains a favourite among players and fans alike.

PGA Tour Memorial Tournament Betting Tips

Muirfield Village Golf Club, Thursday 4 - Sunday 7 June

The Field

Scheffler returns to one of his happiest hunting grounds after another outstanding season. The two-time defending champion has already established himself as the man to beat at Muirfield Village and arrives looking to join an exclusive club by completing a remarkable three-peat. A solo third at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson suggests his game remains in excellent shape heading into another stern examination.

The chasing pack is loaded with star power. Rory McIlroy returns to the Memorial for the first time since 2024 after missing last year's event, while FedExCup standouts Cameron Young and Matt Fitzpatrick make their first starts since the PGA Championship. Fitzpatrick owns three career top-10 finishes at Muirfield Village, while Young continues to build an increasingly impressive résumé.

Another player arriving with serious momentum is Ludvig Åberg, who has recorded six top-eight finishes in his last nine starts. Recent Charles Schwab Challenge winner Russell Henley also enters full of confidence after another excellent campaign that already includes a podium finish at the Masters and a top-five here last year.

The Course

Muirfield Village Golf Club has been a fixture on the PGA TOUR schedule since 1976 and remains one of the most complete tests in professional golf. Designed by Jack Nicklaus alongside Desmond Muirhead, the venue was inspired by Scotland's famed Muirfield, where Nicklaus captured his first Open Championship title in 1966.

Stretching to 7,569 yards as a par 72, Muirfield Village places a premium on elite ball-striking and patience. Thick rough, demanding approach shots and lightning-fast greens ensure players are constantly under pressure, while mistakes can quickly compound.

Unlike many modern PGA TOUR venues where birdies come in bunches, Muirfield Village consistently rewards discipline and precision. Winning scores are typically earned rather than gifted, making it one of the closest major championship simulations players will face all season.

Top Picks

Scottie Scheffler

Another opportunity to prove that the third time is the charm. This is his third chance to win three consecutive editions of the same tournament, having come up short in his previous two attempts elsewhere. Fittingly, he also owns a pair of solo third-place finishes at Muirfield Village to complement his two victories. Few players are better suited to this demanding test.

Scottie Scheffler

Si Woo Kim

At fifth in the FedExCup standings, Kim is the highest-ranked player yet to win in 2026. He has already produced a career-best seven top-10 finishes, including four podium results. His record at the Memorial is equally impressive, with five consecutive top-20 finishes through 2024 highlighting his comfort on this layout.

Value Picks

Alex Smalley

Good things happen to players who stay patient, and Smalley has certainly earned his rewards. Across his last seven starts he has produced three podium finishes and nothing worse than a T21. That run includes a runner-up finish at the PGA Championship, where scoring conditions closely resembled the demanding nature of Muirfield Village.

Alex Smalley

Rickie Fowler

His hot run cooled slightly with a T60 at the PGA Championship and a surprise missed cut at Colonial, but the underlying form remains encouraging. Fowler's history at Muirfield Village is particularly strong, featuring five career top-10 finishes including a T7 here last season. If he rediscovers his putting touch, he could easily outperform his market price.
