2025 AFL Fixture

November 20th 2024, 9:25pm, By: admin

The AFL off-season has been action-packed, with the trade period and national draft sparking fresh optimism across all 18 clubs. With rosters reshaped and young talent added, fans are eagerly anticipating what lies ahead. Now, the focus shifts to the highly anticipated 2025 AFL season, as the newly released fixture sets the stage for an electrifying year of footy!

Opening Round makes its return in 2025, following much debate and anticipation. This special four-match round will see eight of the league’s 18 clubs kick off their season a week ahead of the rest. Reigning premiers, Brisbane, will unveil their premiership flag in the first match of the season when they take on Geelong at the Gabba on the 6th of March.

Gather Round returns once again with all Round 5 matches to be played in South Australia, with the first of those being Adelaide vs Geelong on Thursday night. Following that will be Easter weekend in Round 6 which will kick off with Brisbane hosting Collingwood in a Thursday night blockbuster.

The Bye Rounds will take place from Rounds 12-16, although fans will get to enjoy at least seven games of footy each weekend. Importantly, no team who has had two byes (due to Opening Round) will play against a team who hasn't had their bye yet, which is a key change from 2024 after much controversy.

Simply put, there’s a lot to get excited about if you’re an Aussie Rules fan, and you can check out the full round-by-round 2025 AFL fixture below.

Also, we’ll be providing previews and best bets for each and every game of the 2025 AFL season, so make sure to head over to our AFL Betting Tips page regularly to keep up to date with all of our content.
