2019 AFL Grand Final Prop Bets

September 26th 2019, 8:38pm, By: Jake Smit

The 2019 AFL Grand Final is nearly here, and we couldn’t be more excited! We’ve already previewed the match and provided our best bets for the major markets, which you can see here

Now, we’ve shifted our focus to some of the prop bet markets on offer at major agencies and believe we’ve found some value plays to help finish the 2019 AFL season on a high!

AFL Grand Final Prop Bets

Disposal Market

The first of two disposal markets that we’ve got our eye on revolves around young Tigers star Liam Baker. The 21-year-old has had a breakout season, playing 18 games to take his career tally to 21. Impressively, he’s averaged 17.2 disposals per game this season while floating between different midfield and forward roles, as well as stints across half-back on occasion. Baker has had a magnificent finals series to date and was one of his team’s best against the Cats last weekend. That said, we don’t see any reason why his role or form will diminish in the Grand Final, so it seems like a steal to get his disposal line overs at just 16.5.

Next up we target the disposal line of Tigers winger Brandon Ellis. He’s had a fairly solid season but did most of his best work in the early part of the year. Ellis’ role has diminished due to the emergence of other young Tiger midfielders, which is a huge reason why he’s expected to sign with the Gold Coast in the off-season. While he’s still a pretty talented player and can accumulate when he’s given the chance, we don’t see him finding the ball 20+ times against a stingy GWS outfit on Saturday.

Goalscorer Market

One for the Giants fans here as we provide our best play in the goalscorer market. Now, who doesn’t love Toby Greene? Probably quite a few, but that’s besides the point. We’re keen on making a play on him to kick a couple of goals in the big dance. Greene is a proven big game player and will be absolutely buzzing to get out there on the MCG after missing out on last weekend’s thrilling preliminary final win. Him missing that final may actually be a blessing in disguise, because now he comes in super fresh both physically and mentally. For the stat lovers, Greene kicked 27 goals this year from 18 games for an average of 1.5. He’s kicked 2+ goals in six of his last nine games and had 34 touches and two goals last time he came up against the Tigers (Round 17). Now with a point to prove in a Grand Final, we believe Toby is going to put his best foot forward.

First Goalscorer

Always a speculative bet, but why not have a crack at the first goalscorer market on Grand Final day? It’s certainly worth a cheeky punt at BetEasy where you get to take advantage of the Chase the Goal market, which awards you bonus bets for every goal your player kicks. Here, we’re going to play it safe with our pick for first goalscorer and go with Tom Lynch from Richmond. He was fantastic last weekend with five goals and is every chance to take a big grab after a quick clearance kick at the start of the game. Take him for first goalscorer and get rewarded for every goal he kicks throughout the match.
