NBL Round 6 Betting Tips

NZ Breakers vs Melbourne United (Thursday 5:30pm)

The Breakers split their two home games in Round 5, missing an opportunity to level up their record at 3-3 and instead making it 2-4. Meanwhile, Melbourne United won both of their Round 5 games and look to have hit some much-needed form before their season really got out of hand. United are in the better form with three wins in their last four but are coming off a huge emotional weekend that is sure to see some sort of drop off. We expect the Breakers to get back to winning ways in a tight win over United at home.

Brisbane Bullets vs Sydney Kings (Friday 7:30pm)

Friday night’s fixture is an interesting one with the Bullets taking on the Kings in Brisbane. The Bullets put in their best performance of the season in Round 5 when they defeated the defending champion Wildcats and were able to back it up with another win against the Hawks. On the other hand, the Kings won their opening Round 5 fixture but couldn’t make it 2/2 when they lost to United in Melbourne on Monday night. The Bullets will bring some confidence into this clash, but we still can’t see them getting over the line. The Kings are the best and most talented team in the league and should be winning this game.

SE Melbourne Phoenix vs NZ Breakers (Saturday 5:30pm)

Phoenix only played one game in Round 5 and it was a disappointing one. They were blown out of the water by Melbourne United in the first half and never really looked like winning. They’ve now lost two of their last three games, although they still remain in third spot on the ladder. The Breakers will be playing their second game in three days when they take on the Phoenix in Melbourne, which means fatigue may play a role. Phoenix will be desperate to atone for last weekend’s disappointment and get a great opportunity to do so at home. We see them winning this one fairly comfortably.

Cairns Taipans vs Illawarra Hawks (Saturday 8pm)

The Taipans lost their only game in Round 5, which was an eight-point loss to the Breakers in New Zealand. Their record now stands at 2-5 for the season, which certainly isn’t great, although they’ve looked a lot better than they were last season. On the other hand, the Hawks are 1-7 for the season and don’t even look close to winning another game. They’ve lost their star import in Aaron Brooks and are really struggling to stay competitive in games. We expect the Taipans to put on a ruthless display at home in this one.

Melbourne United vs Adelaide 36ers (Sunday 3pm)

Melbourne United are at home for their second game of the round after playing in New Zealand on Thursday. It’s a tough ask for them to be at their best considering its their fourth game in less than two weeks. The 36ers lost a heartbreaker to the Kings last time out and will be desperate to get back on the winners list. They’ve had their fair share of success against United in Melbourne over the years and we expect this to be no different. They look the best roughie to back this weekend in our view.

Sydney Kings vs Perth Wildcats (Sunday 5pm)

The final game of the round is a ripper between the top-of-the-ladder Kings and the defending champion Wildcats. The Kings will be making their way back from Brisbane with hopefully a win under their belt, while the Wildcats will be playing their first game of the round. The Wildcats will have the fresher bodies, but it’s near impossible to bet against the Kings this season, especially when they’re on their home deck. We see them taking care of business against the champs.
