Darts Premier League Week 8 Betting Tips
The first match is a crucial one for the chances of Mensur Suljovic and Daryl Gurney this season. It’s a coin flip contest and the loser will be under pressure to avoid relegation. It’s a match that is likely to go the distance. Gurney will power through more 180s, but can he checkout under pressure? His price does look value and might be worth a nibble.
Michael Smith will get a good test of where he’s at this season when he takes on Michael van Gerwen. Smith really has nothing to lose here. He’s not expected to win, and his place in the league is not under pressure, so he really can go down swinging here. I really like him to cover a +3.5 game handicap. The line for 7.5 180s also looks a little high.
Gary Anderson will take on Simon Whitlock in the next match, and again it’s a tough ask for the Aussie. Anderson only collected one point last week, and will be wanting to start to get some wins under his belt to move up the leaderboard. Anderson should get the win comfortably here. Consider playing the averages market – Anderson over 98.5 and Whitlock under 94.5.
Peter Wright against Raymond van Barneveld is another vital match for relegation chances. Barney got away with a draw last week to take some pressure off, but Wright had another shocker and is in desperate trouble now. How can you back either of these two with any confidence right now? If you really have to bet, look to play the unders on 180s and averages and hope for more insipid performances from these two.
The final match sees Rob Cross take on cellar dweller Gerwyn Price. I can’t see Price giving Cross any trouble at all given their recent form. Price is just not quite up to the mark this season and Cross has improved with every match to recapture some of his World Champs form. Cross to win plus the most 180s, and we’ll take the unders on Price’s average.
