2018 PGA: Canadian Open Betting Tips

The Course

As is has done for the majority of the Canadian Open’s since 1977, Glen Abbey Golf Course will play host to this year’s edition. The course was opened in 1976 and will play around 7,270 yards for this weekend’s action. 71 is par on the course which features some tough narrow fairways lined with thick Kentucky Bluegrass rough that should be thick.

It’ll be a stark contrast for the guys making the short turnaround from the British Open on the weekend, of which Dustin Johnson and Tommy Fleetwood headline.

Tips

Charlie Hoffman

While some big names in the likes of Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Tommy Fleetwood headline the event, it’s Charlie Hoffman who really catches my eye this weekend in terms of value. The American has strung together three top 20 finishes in a row and was impressive in the Open Championship on the weekend until a final round of 73 eventually saw him just miss the top ten. Has only missed four cuts in 20 events this season and while he boasts just one top 10 finish, he has proven to be uber consistent.

Tony Finau

Another one of the best golfers this season yet to rack up a tour win is Tony Finau. The American was super impressive in the Open Championship on the weekend, finishing tied for ninth place just a month removed from finishing fifth in the US Open. Only a matter of time until the talented 28-year-old lifts his second tour trophy. Through 21 events this season he has missed just three cuts and already boasts seven top 10 finishes and 14 top 25 finishes. Is a top 25 ranked golfer in birdie average, scoring average, greens in regulation and is the third longest driver on tour this season.
