2016-17 EPL: Week 11 Preview & Betting Tips

November 2nd 2016, 8:37pm, By: C.McGregor9

The 2016-17 EPL season continues this weekend with the biggest match coming on Sunday night between Arsenal and Tottenham which we look at along with all the other key games in our EPL Week 11 Preview and Betting Tips.

Chelsea vs Everton (Sunday 4.30am AEST)

Everton bounced back from a disappointing four-game spell to pick up a nice victory against West Ham. It was good to see Ross Barkley find the back of the net but he has been strong throughout the season despite not having his goal scoring boots. He will be an important performer this weekend, along with Romelu Lukaku. The Belgium international is playing against his former side and he has shown in the past that he can haunt is former team.

Meanwhile Chelsea are on a four-game winning streak and have moved one-point behind the three current leaders on the table. The side has improved drastically in defence over the month period whilst their attack is looking a lot better too. Eden Hazard has regained his top form and scored in the opening 10-minutes whilst Diego Costa scored a screamer. We are predicting their winning streak to come to an end this weekend though as the two sides split the points.

Arsenal vs Tottenham (Sunday 11pm AEST)

The Spurs are the only side in the competition that remains undefeated but due to their inability to finish off their opponents – especially the sides they should be defeating – they are sitting behind the front runners. The team is currently on a three game stretch of draws and they won’t want to settle for another one-pointer this weekend despite being on the road against one of their biggest rivals.

The Gunners have won four of their last five games and are pushing for title contention. However, this is normally when Arsenal will slip and all of their fans will lose confidence in them. A loss at home against Tottenham would be a disaster because not only would they miss out on an opportunity to win competition points but their opponent would lower the gap. The side has a lot of attacking firepower and they will need it all as the Spurs have the stingiest defence and have only conceded 5 goals in 10 matches. The Spurs issue is their attack but we believe they will only need a bit of luck and they will be able to take the three-points home.

Hull City vs Southampton (Monday 1.15am AEST)

Southampton are having a better season than expected and are in the top half of the table. However, they still aren’t a strong side and they are short priced favourites despite being on the road. They have won just one of their last four games and they are coming off a 2-0 loss against Chelsea on home soil. The side has a lot of structure and is solid at the back but they are struggling to score goals.

Hull City on the other hand have had a dreadful run and are currently on a six game losing streak. The side had a great start to the season but it is a distant memory as they find themselves in the relegation zone. They will have the advantage of playing on their home soil and due to Southampton’s struggles in front of goal we are backing them to hold on for a draw.

TIP: Draw @ $3.60 with William Hill

Swansea City vs Manchester United (Monday 2am AEST)

The Red Devils are continuing to go through an awful stretch in the league and they haven’t won a game in four matches. During that stretch they had an embarrassing defeat against Chelsea and the side will want to redeem themselves for that performance. Paul Pogba needs to step up and prove to the world why he cost so much whilst Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been unable to find the back of the net in over six games. The side was unfortunate to not get the win against Burnley last weekend as they created plenty of chances and were by far the better side. On any other day they could have easily score five or more goals but it wasn’t to be.

Swansea City has just one win this season and they are sitting in second last spot on the table. They have conceded 18 goals and we are predicting that to be their biggest issue when facing Manchester United. The Red Devils will want to get off to a good start and build some momentum to get their season back on track.
