United Cup 2023-24 Preview & Betting Tips

United Cup Betting Tips

The tennis is back! We kick things off with the United Cup taking place in multiple Australian capital cities. Some players have been in the country for weeks completing their pre-season, while others have spent Christmas at home before jetting into the country.

Let’s take a look at one of the groups in play and make a group winner selection.

United Cup Group F Betting Tips

The three teams that make up Group F are NetherlandsCroatia and Norway. Looking at the line-ups for the singles match-ups, we are likely to see the following players taking the court:

Women’s: Arantxa Rus (NED), Donna Vekic (CRO), Malene Helgo (NOR)

Men’s: Tallon Griekspoor (NED), Borna Coric (CRO), Casper Ruud (NOR)

I am relatively comfortable in ruling a line through Norway, even with Ruud leading the way. I just don’t see Helgo making significant inroads into the WTA matches with Rus and Vekic, and given the likes of Koolhof and Schuurs from the Netherlands and Dodig for Croatia in the doubles specialist spots, I don’t see Norway being favourites or even slight underdogs for any of the women’s or doubles matches.

That brings us to Netherlands and Croatia. I love that Borna Coric has been in Australia for a number of weeks as part of his pre-season, and I’d have him incredibly competitive in matches against Griekspoor and Ruud. Where Croatia have a significant advantage in this group is Donna Vekic, who should be able to win both of her matches, and pair with Dodig in the doubles if necessary as well.

The $1.80 for Croatia to win the group looks to be solid value to kick off the year.
