The best horse racing scene in the world returns today for a 10 race card at Sha Tin in Hong Kong. The card itself was a tough one to pull apart but as always it will provide plenty of excitement and hopefully a few wins along the way. Best picks for Sha Tin are below.

Race 6: Hku Business School And Faculty Of Engineering Hcp (C3) – 1000m (17:35 AEST)
(13) Sparkling Knight is a huge price here. He flies 1st up, trialled nicely leading up to his return here and can absolutely win or go close in this event.
(1) Pleasant Endeavour is drawn well here and should settle on speed. He owns a great overall record and with the 3kg claim here should be right in this.
(4) Run Run Cool is nicely drawn as well to the outside rail and has Zac Purton booked to ride. He was a horse which had me interested late last season for producing some solid performances and there’s no reason he can’t perform well again.

Race 7: The Hong Kong University Alumni Association Challenge Cup Hcp (C3) – 1400 (18:05 AEST)
(3) Taj Dragon looks tough to beat in this event. Zac Purton rides from gate 2, he went out with a solid win last season and has returned with 3 impressive trials going just about undefeated.
(9) Yellowfin is yet to miss top 2 over this trip in 3 attempts. He should improve with this and a few more runs into the season but will be in the minor placings.
(1) Flagship Warrior gets the aid of barrier 1 here and has a huge claim under the apprentice. There looks a few nicer types in the race but it shapes up well for this horse.

Race 9: Hku Faculties Of Arts And Education Hcp (C3) – 1600m (19:10 AEST)
(8) Snaffles was 3rd resuming last start and was drawn less favourably than he is today. He has a fitness edge on most of this field now so should be able to steal this with even luck from the inside draw.
(11) Master Of Fortune is also well drawn for his resumption today. His trial didn’t look good on paper but he was strong through the line there and has been racing well in recent attempts. Can run well fresh here.
(10) Big Red ties in closely with the on top selection having run 2nd up the inside in the same race as snaffles. Expect him not to be far away again here although Snaffles should have him covered this time.
