Sandown Hillside hosts midweek racing in Melbourne this week and with fine weather around it looks to be a popular program for punters. The first race starts at 12:25pm (AEST) and runners will run on a Good surface with little rain around the last few weeks.

Sandown Racing Tips: Wednesday, May 21st 2025
Race 4: Tobin Brothers Celebrating Lives Handicap - 2:10pm (AEST)
(13) Stokke has drawn the inside here which may assist and after winning a trial at Terang on April 14 she led and was run down at Warrnambool over the 1100m last start. The stable has chosen to drop her back 100m in distance which is the key here. She can lead again from the draw and with more fitness on her side she is fitter and stronger and should be going very close to winning this.
(7) Fully Calculated was slow out last start at The Bool but held on well for 3rd and if she can jump better she could run a drum at double figure odds. She hasn’t finished further back than 4th in her last 5 starts.
(10) Divino Cavallo has drawn out in 11 but the Griffiths stable is in fine form. She likes Dry ground and she has already won over the 1000m. Jamie Melham goes on for the first time.
(13) Stokke WIN
$2.70 (2 Units)
Race 6: Evergreen Turf Handicap - 3:20pm (AEST)
(6) Half Yours is a last start Seymour winner on the Dry and he has had a 5 weeks rest since that so the stable must believe he is better fresh. He will get back a bit in the run and will want some early pace on so he can get into his gears over the last 400m. Has won 2 from 2 on the Soft so that is the slight query that he is better on rain affected ground. Each-Way.
(8) Staunch was wide and 3rd at Cranbourne last start. From a better barrier here in 4 he should get a more economical run and he should be in the top 3 for Jamie Mott who has won twice on him before.
(13) Boardrider was disappointing when favourtie at Cranbourne last start and can bounce back here. Is third up here and fitter but he does get back in the run. First try at the distance.
(6) Half Yours Each-Way
$3.60/$1.65 (1U/2U)
Race 7: Quayclean Handicap - 3:55pm (AEST)
(7) Impending Link is a winner but in saying that hasn’t won in six months and six starts. Drops back in grade here and this looks a suitable assignment. Is versatile in the run and he did seem to like this track two starts back when 4th. Likes the Dry and if he starts better he can be in the finish. Blinkers back off.
(3) Russian Meteor has drawn wide in 11 but he has raced in harder races than this. He likes racing on Dry surfaces and he has won twice before for Jamie Mott.
(19) Howdy was 3rd when $1.80 two starts back and he will get back in the run and storm home if he does get a run. Double figure odds too.
(7) Impending Link Each-Way
$6.00/$2.35 (1 Unit)
