Rosehill this weekend should be an interesting card. The quality of racing and depth of lineups is strengthening as spring is only just around the corner. A few group 3 races for the young guns will headline this meeting which should see plenty of spring talent returning for the new season.

Rosehill Racing Tips: Saturday, August 26th 2023
Race 1: Highway Class 2 Hcp – 1400m (11:45 AEST)
(5) Take The Kitty will demolish this field if he has any luck. He’s been brutally unlucky not to win his last 2 races and is crying out for some racing room in the straight. As if punters need any more convincing, the blinkers are reapplied here, the horse has barrier 1 and Nash Rawiller has been booked to ride.
(9) Melody Again is 2nd pick here and 2nd market elect but would’ve been easily swallowed up by this favourite the last time they met if not for bad luck. This horse should be around the mark but will be no match for the favourite.
(10) Master of Rewards knows how to run a cheeky race or two and might be some value for exotics. Looks unlikely to be contesting the win here but can be in the front pack.
(5) Take The Kitty - Win

Race 2: Bm78 Hcp – 2000m (12:20 AEST)
(2) Wineglass Bay is better odds than he was last time where he was made to work to land in an ideal position. Travelling Kate got the better run there and meets this horse 2kg heavier with a poorer draw. Expect the tables to turn here.
(6) Little Mix showed good promise running well 1st up over a shorter trip. Interesting to see how she measures up here 2nd up and over 2000m now.
(3) Travelling Kate can’t be left out of the numbers having beaten the favourite last start. As mentioned, a few things are against her here but she should still be in the finish.
(2) Wineglass Bay - Win

Race 5: Bm78 Hcp – 1100m (14:05 AEST)
(7) Smashing Eagle will be hard to beat here. He could’ve just about beat a flying horse in Mogo Magic 2 starts ago with more luck and proved that theory winning nicely last time over course and distance in this grade. Rinse and repeat?
(9) Xtravagant Star is 2nd elect here and some threat. She’ll lead or sit handy which will give her every possible chance. Might be relying on bad luck for the favourite though.
(3) Tristate makes up the numbers here for 3rd. Hasn’t won for a long time and seems to lack conviction even though he’s often in the first few across the line.
(7) Smashing Eagle - Win
