Randwick Racing Tips: Saturday, September 6th 2025
Race 6: Tab Furious Stakes Group 2 (1200m) - 2:45pm AEST
(1) Within The Law: 3YO filly who we were with first-up, and she ran a bold race when finishing second to Savvy Hallie with a clear margin back to third. She meets that runner again here but crucially gets a 2kg weight swing in her favour, which brings her right into the contest. Proven second-up and sure to strip fitter, she profiles nicely for this assignment. Jason Collett sticks with her for the Bjorn Baker stable, another positive sign. The draw isn’t ideal, but she maps to find a midfield position with cover and possesses a sharp turn of foot when produced at the right time. Expecting her to run a big race – definite winning chance.
(2) Tupakara: Resuming 3YO Filly who looks to be the roughie of the field. She is still a maiden, but brings some strong formlines from last campaign which suggests she can play a role. Draws a sticky gate, but gets J-Mac on and looks an each way chance.
(3) Savvy Hallie: 3YO Filly who has returned nicely notching up two wins in a row and that includes a strong performances last start over this track/trip. Gets another handy draw and has to be considered once more. Adds 2kg of weight now though. Danger.

Race 8: Kia Ora Concorde Stakes Group 3 (1000m) - 3:55pm AEST
(1) Jimmysstar: 6YO Gelding who has proved he is a class horse and won the Oakleigh plate in style first up last time round. He handles all goings and looks to be every hope first up here. Sticky gate and 1000m the only queries as he is yet to compete over 1000m and if he gets dragged back from the wide draw he’ll need to do his best work to pick them up. Danger.
(4) Lady Shenandoah: Talented 4YO Mare who has built a rather impressive CV. She is yet to be beaten at group 1, 2 and 3 level and continues to show grit and win. She is unbeaten over this track and retains J-Mac in the saddle which are all confidence boosters. The query is 1000m and the conditions of the track. All her career wins come from a good track. Drawn to effect and rates nicely.
(5) Headwall: Progressive 6YO gelding who continues to go from strength to strength. He was outstanding at the end of last campaign in The Quokka, rattling home and only just denied by Jokers Grin in a high-class contest – form that more than stacks up here. Resumes today off two solid trials and looks ready to fire fresh, boasting a terrific first-up record. Draws beautifully to get his chance, and with genuine tempo expected on paper, the race shape sets up perfectly for his explosive late burst. Any rain around would only enhance his prospects. Confident he can reel them in and I’m more than happy to oppose the favourite over the 1000m trip

Race 9: Drinkwise Tramway Stakes Group 2 (1400m) – 4:35pm AEST
(5) Private Eye: 8YO gelding who we were with last start, and he didn’t let us down, proving far too good in the Lawrence Stakes, cruising home by 2L in dominant fashion. Now third-up and brimming with confidence, he steps into stronger company but looks more than capable of measuring up. Drawn wide, but with Nash Rawiller aboard he maps to find a comfortable spot, and if he’s stalking within striking distance on the turn, expect him to be charging late. Loves the sting out of the ground and sticks to 1400m. Hard to knock – goes right on with it.
(7) Pericles: Resuming 6YO Gelding who boasts a pretty good record over this trip and is a proven fresh runner. He has several group 1 placings which puts him up there in some good company. He previously won this race and looks to have trialled nicely leading into this campaign. Josh PARR jumps in for the first time and looks capable of running a nice race. Each way value.
(15) Swiftfalcon: 4YO Gelding who resumes off a pretty handy autumn effort. He ran some nice races and finished off nicely after having to do quite a bit of work in each. Proven fresh runner and will have plenty of support id think. Each way.
