AFL Round 1 MoneyBall daily fantasy

The big AFL Round 1 contests kick off on Thursday night with the $10 buy-in $5,000 Guarantee Season Opener. All you have to do to turn your $10 into $1,000+ is put on your virtual coach’s hat and choose the best fantasy team for the Carlton vs Richmond game! To beat all your opponents, your team simply needs to score the most fantasy points based on each player's performance. The Saturday and Sunday tournaments, meanwhile, allow you to pick players from multiple games being played on those days - that means on Saturday you can have a players from the Gold Coast vs Essendon, North Melbourne vs Adelaide and Sydney vs Collingwood games.

The way you pick your team is simple. Each participant starts with a $60,000 'salary cap' and then must use that virtual money to pick a team consisting of 2 forwards, 1 ruck, four midfielders and 2 defenders. Each player is allocated a salary based on their form and fantasy scoring prowess - for example, Trent Cotchin this Thursday night costs $7,300. You won't be able to afford all the best players within your salary cap, so the strategy comes in picking the best mix of cheaper players and elite players.

The best part about MoneyBall DFS tournaments is that a small buy-in can be turned into a big prize. The $10,000 Guaranteed Saturday Slam and $10,000 Guaranteed Sunday Funday tournaments cost $15 to enter and the winner of each will likely take home $2,000+ - all for playing fantasy sports just like you would with your friends in social leagues like SuperCoach etc.
