Pinjarra Racing Tips: Saturday, June 7th 2025

Race 1: BARRAGUP SELF STORAGE HANDICAP (2200 METRES) – 12:34pm (2:34pm AEST)

(4) Zaza Rock kicks off a cracking opening event which is only a small field of six runners, but all of them are racing in great form. Clint Johnston-Porter opts for Western Power over Zaza Rock which may be a lead. With that booking, Lucy Fiore picks up the ride on the five-year-old mare as she searches for a hat-trick of victories. She has beaten Fat Roy Slim at her previous two starts and should be fighting out the finish.

(3) Western Power was victorious last start defeating Macciateau and Trio by 1.5 lengths. CJP didn’t ride on that occasion but had previously ridden the four-year-old gelding in the three previous runs, where all three produced a top three finish. The small field will suit, but the step up from 1600m to 2200m for the first time is the big query. Can’t take $2.30 based on the sharp rise in distance.

(2) Trio is another taking the big rise in distance and Pike will stick with him rather than Fat Roy Slim. He was an excellent run when third behind Western Power over the mile and should be finishing strongly if he stays the journey.

(4) Zaza Rock

$4.85 (2 units)

Race 3: COUNTRY COMFORT PERTH PLATE (1300 METRES) – 1:46pm (3:46pm AEST)

(6) Moonwalk and Too Darn Stormy collide once again following a half-length margin that saw the latter claim victory on debut. The filly is prepared by Grant and Alana Williams and gets an extra 2kg weight advantage for the rematch. From the inside draw, Moonwalk will be trying to gain a bigger head start in the run to turn the tables. Should go close at her second career run.

(1) Too Darn Stormy aims for back-to-back wins, and the Daniel Morton-trained two-year-old gelding looks the testing material once again with William Pike riding. Pike will look to slot in somewhere, but if he is caught wide, it will enhance the chances of Moonwalk prevailing.

(7) Playin’it Sweet has started her career with a pair of third placings, including a 1.43-length defeat behind Too Darn Stormy and Moonwalk. She can be in the mix again, but place chances are more likely.

(6) Moonwalk

$3.70 (2 units)

Race 6: BRIDGETOWN JIGSAW PICTURE GALLERY HANDICAP (1600 METRES) – 3:35pm (5:35pm AEST)

(8) Bondi Bay has had four runs this time in, including a second two starts back over the mile behind Snippy Sean, and then running fourth when stepping up to 2200m. The three-year-old gelding is on the quick back up, back to the mile and draws a favourable gate. Hopefully Tash Faithfull can find a forward position with cover and look to be dangerous late.

(4) Forever Boy is building into his preparation when finishing third at his second up run behind Dennis Choux who went on to a dominant victory a week later over the 2200m. He looks primed for this third up assignment and can fight out the finish.

(6) Arcadia Park is a stablemate to Forever Boy with both trained by Michael Grantham. The three-year-old gelding resumed with a fourth, beaten 1.41 lengths by Azena. He jumps straight from the 1200m to the mile, which is his first try at the distance. He has finished behind Bondi Bay on two occasions in August last year.

(8) Bondi Bay

$7.00 (1 unit)
