Oaks Day Racing Tips: Thursday November 6th 2025

November 5th 2025, 7:49pm, By: Brendan Bunworth

Flemington Racing Tips

The 2025 Crown Oaks Day awaits punters on Thursday with the Oaks scheduled to jump at 5:10pm (AEDT). After smashing them on Derby Day, Getta Good Feeling is the overwhelming favourite at $1.80, while Spicy Lu has been backed into second fav at $8.50. The track will likely remain in the Soft range but a chance of a Good track is still on the cards. The day traditionally aimed for the girls gets its first race underway at 1pm (AEDT).

After a highly profitable Melbourne Cup Day for followers, we go again in every race on the program. And if you're keen to back in our tips, consider doing so at Dabble!

Flemington Racing Tips: Thursday, November 6th

Race 1: TCL Trophy 1700m - 1pm (AEDT)

(12) Full Hao had JMAC on when 2nd at Warwick Farm last week and the champion jockey sticks with him here. WIth Mark Xahra aiming to snatch his record of 11 wins over the Flemington carnival, JMAC will be keen for a few winners today. Two starts back he went back and he ran on well for 4th at Rosehill. The long straight of Flemington should suit.

(11) First Chorus has drawn the carpark in 18 and Jamie Mott has a big ask to get cover. Nice mare who likes Soft tracks.

(2) Junebug will settle handy and it wont matter whether the track is Good or Soft for this one. Hasn’t won in a while and was just behind Full Hao last time.

(12) Full Hao Each-Way

$5.50/$2.20 (0.50 Units)

Race 2: RDA Subzero Handicap 1400m - 1:35pm (AEDT)

(1) Cloudland is fresh enough and he goes well that way. Likes Soft ground and he has a very good winning strike rate. He is last year's winner and he goes very well fresh. He has had a month off which I think will help for this race.

(2) Statuario has been running well without winning and will likely go forward in this race. Drops back to 1400m after getting tired when leading over 2000m last time at Caulfield (5th). Back in grade and has placed at Flemington before. Logan Bates claims 2kg for this but he will likely need further.

(5) Getafix will want a Soft track and if it is he should go very close. Usually gets back and runs on but was 10th last start after drifting in betting.

(1) Cloudland WIN

$4.40 (1 Unit)

Race 3: Inglis Bracelet 1600m - 2:10pm (AEDT)

(4) Keep Your Cool for Cairon Maher ran on well at Caulfield last start for 2nd and she looks ready for the mile. She always goes well when second up and the consistent mare is having her second look at the distance after failing last time. She’s tougher now.

(5) Waimarie was disappointing last start (14th) but before that was running well for its former stable. Blake Shinn is booked to ride but won’t be so that will be updated. This horse might want the rain though.

(6) Sneaky Sunrise is up in distance and just loves racing at Flemington. She has won twice and placed three times her prior and she will likely go forward for the Hayes Team.

(4) Keep Your Cool WIN

$4.00 (2 Units)

Race 4: Good Friday Appeal Trophy 1800m - 2:45pm (AEDT)

(9) Al Duca drops 7kg for this and an Each-Way play looks the go. He is very consistent and will go forward again from barrier 3 and if the race is run slowly he can kick on for the win. He has won 4 from 11 on Dry ground so an upgrade to a Good track would be ideal for this guy. Has only got beaten a total of 1.5L his last couple and he won well at Caulfield before that.

(12) Zambardo is the deserved favourite and he is another who will want a Good track. Melbourne Cup winning trainer, Jamie Melham is on top and she is obviously full of confidence. From barrier 5 he should settle in the box seat and be produced at the 300m. Winner over 2000m last start at Caulfield.

(11) Shockletz has won two in a row without us being on and he has to be respected. Harry Coffey is on and he has won 5 from 9 when on top. The leading Maher stable trains and he is progressive.

(9) Al Duca Each-Way

$6.00/$1.80 (1 Unit)

Race 5: Channel 9 Chester Manifold Stakes 1600m - 3:20pm (AEDT)

(10) Enexuto was unlucky when 3rd on Derby Day and Robbie Griffiths has sent him straight back to the races. He will want another Good track and he should be cherry ripe being 4th up. He gets the same barrier as last week (3) and will settle midfield again but will be hoping for the gap to appear earlier this time.

(8) Poison Chalice will get back and run on. A Soft track is better for him but he has never placed at Flemington in 5 attempts which is a concern.

(2) Detonator Jack hasn’t won in 18 months but is very good on his day. He is pretty consistent despite not placing in a while and his current odds of $11.00 looks too high.

(10) Enexuto Each-Way

$5.50/$2.00 (1 Unit)

Race 6: Melbourne Cup Country Final QC 1600m - 3:55pm (AEDT)

(11) Big Sexy we backed on this site in the last race of Bendigo Cup Day (2nd) and we will go again despite the sexy one drawing the carpark in 18. He drops a kilogram for in-form John Allen and he will want a Soft track. He goes to the mile for the first time and if he can slot in around 4th without being wide he can win.

(15) Lake Vostok will want a Soft or Heavy track. She will get back in the run and if they go too fast midrace will power home. Goes well at Flemington.

(16) Meh Keffi is a big chance if the track is Dry. She drops 4kg and is 1 from 1 over the mile. Jamie Melham rides.

(11) Big Sexy Each-Way

$4.50/$2.05 (1 Unit)

Race 7: Crown Red Roses Stakes 1100m - 4:30pm (AEDT)

(9) Akaysha has drawn barrier 16 up the straight and that could be the place to be. She drew the inside at Caulfield last start when 4th and Flemington looks a better track for her. She was beaten a neck three runs back at this track and she was slow out and stormed home on that occasion.

(1) Inkaruna has been freshened for this and has placed over the track&distance. Blake Shinn won’t be riding this one due to injury but barrier 19 looks a handy draw.

(4) O’ Ole has trialled up well and will be in the top few early. Hasn’t raced in almost 10 months but if she gets backed in you know that she is ready. Bjorn Baker won a race on Cup Day and his stable is in good form.

(9) Akaysha Each-Way

$6.00/$2.10 (1 Unit)

Race 8: Crown Oaks GROUP 1 2500m - 5:10pm (AEDT)

(1) Getta Good Feeling won for followers on Derby Day over 2000m in the Group 2 Wakeful and she could not have been more impressive. She sat handy and when Mark Zahra said go she just cruised to the line to score by 1.25L. She has drawn well in 4 and with a few of her opposition going forward early, I can see her landing in around 4th position in the run. Obviously its a big jump in distance for her but all indications are that she will run it out. We are only getting $1.80 to find out but I though it might have been only a bad barrier that would get her defeated here but that hasn’t happened.

(3) Spicy Lu led and kept going at Caulfield and although she won’t find the front easy in this race she goes well on Good tracks and by the time of this race we might actually get that rating. She was 8th to Getta Good Feeling in the Edward Manifold and she was only 3.9L behind her.

(7) Strictly Business has drawn a little awkwardly in 13 but did all the chasing behind Getta Good Feeling last start to run 2nd. She will get back in the run and if they go fast early she will be one of the best finishers.

(1) Getta Good Feeling WIN

$1.80 (4 Units)

Race 9: NYE at Flemington Century Stakes 1000m - 5:50pm (AEDT)

(2) Nadal hasn’t won in almost a year but the last race of Oaks Day could be the day for the Maher stable. He is second up and usually does well when second up and I think the wide barrier (13) in the last race is an advantage. He has won twice before for Ethan Brown but hasn’t raced that well previously at Flemington which is a slight concern. On resumption he ran on solidly at Caulfield for 5th and he has been backed in his last couple of starts.

(3) Rey Magnerio has drawn barrier 2 which is not great. Loves Flemington though and loves having Jye McNeil on top. An upgrade to Good track would help his chances.

(14) Stokke gets Damien Lane on for the first time and should run well if the track is Dry. Its his first look at Flemington but he loves running over the 1000m. Led and finished 7th at Caulfield last start and New York Lustre who finished third in that race has won since.

(2) Nadal WIN

$5.50 (1 Unit)
