2019-20 NBA Betting Tips: Saturday 2nd November

November 1st 2019, 5:02pm, By: Andy Rosos

NBA Betting Tips

The NBA season continues this Saturday, the 2nd of November with a fantastic eight game slate headlined by an inter-conference clash between the Rockets and Nets from 10am.

We have a full preview and tips for some of the key matchups of the day below.

NBA Betting Tips Saturday 2nd November

Houston Rockets at Brooklyn Nets (10am AEDT)

The Rockets have started the season in hot form, racking up a 3-1 record and currently sit in second place in the Western Conference. Their offence was on fire in their last matchup as they put up 159 points in the one point win over the Wizards on Thursday. Star guard James Harden scored 59 points in the win and averages 36.8 through four games.

The Nets have their own scoring machine in star guard Kyrie Irving, who has averaged 35.3 points per game through the opening four games. The Nets as a collective, however, have not been as good after a loss to the Nets on Thursday saw them slump to 1-3 on the season.

The Rockets start as slight favourites here and it’s hard to look past them given their start to the season. They have so much firepower on offence with the addition of Russel Westbrook in the off-season and currently sit in third place in three point shots made per game at a whopping 15.5. We think they will score too much for the Nets away from home.

New York Knicks at Boston Celtics (10.30am AEDT)

After an off-season that had many people questioning some of the moves they made, the Knicks have started the season in shaky form. They currently sit in second last place in the Eastern Conference with a 1-4 record and have already lost once to their opponents on Saturday in the Boston Celtics.

The Celtics went down to the 76ers in their opening game but have bounced back with a three game winning streak which included quality wins over the Raptors and the Bucks. They trailed by 16 points at half time in their clash against the Bucks, only to pile on 74 points in the second half and claim a 11 point win at home. Kemba Walker was fantastic in the win, accumulating 32 points while Jayson Tatum had 25.

The Celtics start as 10.5 point favourites at home, which we think is a little high. We do love the look of rookie R.J Barrett early in the season, and his points + rebounds line of 22.5 looks a little low. He went off for 26 points and 7 rebounds when the Knicks faced the Celtics just last week.

San Antonio Spurs at Golden State Warriors (1.30pm AEDT)

What a tough start to the season it has been for the Golden State Warriors. They currently have a 1-3 record through their opening four games, having lost the three games by an average margin of just over 19 points. To make matters worse, star point guard Stephen Curry went down with a broken hand in their last game and is set to be out for an extended period of time.

The Spurs have started the season with a 3-1 record and captured but will be on the second night of a back to back on Saturday after losing to the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday. DeMar DeRozan was impressive in the loss, scoring 29 points.

Love the look of D’Angelo Russel’s point line with Steph Curry out of the line-up for an extended period. The former Net is going to get all of the usage he can handle and should fire up 20+ shots whether the Warriors are leading or trailing.
