Cranbourne will host night racing in the popular Friday night spot with an eight race card on show for punters. There is plenty of rain about in the 24 hours leading up to the meeting so there may be a few scratchings about. Cranbourne can be an on-pace track early on in the season so I have chosen a couple of leaders who will hopefully get us a collect. The track is currently rated a Good 3 at the time of analysing but a Soft track is likely. Race one starts at 6:15pm (AEST), and my three best bets and Quaddie are below!

Cranbourne Racing Tips: Friday, October 2nd 2026
Race 1: The Valley @ Southside Cranbourne Plate 1200m - 6:15pm (AEST)
(4) In A Tizzy is a big chance in the first of the evening after jumping out well and winning here on September 14. Is first up from a 5 month spell here but has enough fitness to show up with Blake Shinn on top. He raced in some strong maiden races during the Autumn and Placed and he is a front runner so I think he will settle in the top 2 in this race from barrier 6. Has Placed on a Soft track previously so the rain won’t matter.
(10) Ektifire has drawn well in barrier 2 and has a strong training/jockey combination in Freedman&WIlliams. Led from barrier 1 last start but got tired late to run third over 1100m. The extra 100m is a query at this stage.
(1) Beast Fighter has been jumping out consistently and is another who raced in stronger races than this last prep.
(4) In A Tizzy WIN
$2.30 (3 Units)
Race 4: Ladbrokes 55 sec challenge 955m - 7:45pm (AEST)
(6) The Speed Machine is first up from a spell and trialled here 2 weeks ago in readiness for this series (2nd). The gelding is unbeaten over this distance and will go forward from barrier 8. Gets a senior jockey with Shinn and he drops 3kg after running 6th in the Gold Rush at Bendigo. Down in class and will give a sight.
(1) Speir resumes and won a jumpout at this track last week. Has had 9 months off but the worry is he goes better on Dry tracks.
(3) Yukaina is untried on wet ground and hasn’t done much at the jumpouts. Is lightly raced and did have talent early in his career.
(6) The Speed Machine WIN
$3.40 (2 Units)
Race 8: Ladbrokes More On The Tote Handicap 1200m - 9:45pm (AEST)
(14) Karren wasn’t beaten too far last start when 2nd at Geelong on a Dry track and before that she had four jumpouts in the lead up to this campaign. She will be pretty fit because of that and she won her only race over the 1200m. She has never seen a wet track so that is a watch but if Ethan Brown can get her over and not get caught three deep, she should go close.
(1) Electric Elvis goes well on rain affected tracks. He is very consistent and is very fit and he likes the distance. Has been freshened for this but des have to carry 61.5kg.
(11) Shystar won a Pakenham jumpout last week and she draws well in barrier 2. She should be able to settle in the top four from there and she has won on a Soft track previously. Is first up and has won when first up before.
(14) Karren Win
$3.00 (2 Units)
