Midweek horse racing will be held across all six states on Wednesday. We’ve scoured the form guides in search of this week’s best bets. Our focus will be on three separate Race 2 events from Sandown-Lakeside, Warwick Farm, and Belmont. Good luck to those following along!

Sandown-Lakeside Racing Tips: Wednesday, August 19th 2026
Race 2: Stow Storage Solutions Plate 1200m – 1:35pm AEST
(9) Zambales is the most experienced runner in this maiden, having competed on seven occasions for three runner-up performances. This is a huge class drop for the Godolphin colt that has run fourth in the Group 1 Blue Diamond, second in the Group 2 Sires’ Produce Stakes and fourth in the Group 1 Champagne Stakes. He won a recent jump out and won’t find a better chance to break his maiden status.
(7) Shooting Brake is first-up from a spell, with a pair of jump outs behind him. He was placed in both runs as a two-year-old, including a 4.5-length defeat behind Natural Fling who just demolished rivals in the Group 3 Quezette Stakes. That form line reads fairly well for this maiden and he must have each-way claims in the race.
(10) Zoehrer is having his debut for trainers Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young. He has won all three jump outs and looks to have a bright future.
(9) Zambales WIN
$1.85 (3 Units)
Warwick Farm Racing Tips: Wednesday, August 19th 2026
Race 2: Inglis Xtra Bonus Handicap 1300m – 2:00pm AEST
(13) Queen’s Gamble continues to race well with a pair of seconds beside her name this preparation. Tommy Berry continues to ride the filly, but it does look tougher this week with a very wide gate and a talented rival in Satin Serenade. While things aren’t in her favour on paper, she might get out to double figures which is worth an each-way ticket.
(14) Satin Serenade is the deserved favourite for the race. She was second on debut back in June when thundering through the line to narrowly miss. A pair of trials have her primed for this event and she looks very hard to beat. The $1.70 on offer is testament to that.
(1) Defensemen is a Chris Waller stablemate to Satin Serenade and the colt has been placed in three of his five career runs. He was so close to breaking his maiden last start and should run well again.
(13) Queen’s Gamble E/W
$7.50/$2.65 (1U/1.5U)
Belmont Racing Tips: Wednesday, August 19th 2026
Race 2: Liquor Barons Maiden 1200m – 1:39pm (3:39pm AEST)
(10) Blue Sparx has finished third at both career starts and should settle much closer in the run in this event compared to last start when sustaining a run from the second half of the field. Lucy Fiore retains the ride on the gelding and this looks a very suitable maiden to break the duck egg. There’s a lot to like about his chances here.
(7) Boutique Belle resumes from a spell and has the combination of Michael Grantham and William Pike. It will be interesting to see if Pike tries to lead or opts for a trail. Either way, the cerise colours that have won so many races in Perth will be a big chance to land another victory.
(12) Fallen City is a filly that was thrown into the deep end on debut, contesting the Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes and it was no surprise to see her beaten almost nine lengths. She has trialled leading into this event. Prefer to watch and see what she does in this.
(10) Blue Sparx WIN
$2.90 (2 Units)
