Scone Racing Tips: Saturday, May 16th 2026
Race 7: Coolmore Denise’s Joy Stakes 1100m - 2:35pm (AEST)
(1) Nepo Bady: 3YO Filly who has been terrific this campaign and hasn’t missed the drum in all four returning runs, she just keeps bumping into 1 or 2 better. She returns to NSW now after that bold Gold Coast effort and gets back to 1100m where she is 2 from 2. Talented type and has plenty of upside but now has to lug 61kg which is the concern. Will be thereabouts.
(2) Akaysha: 3YO Filly who was unlucky first up and then got the chocolates second up over 1000m on the heavy deck. Conditions suit again with the likelihood of a soft track to be in play. Capable of going on with things. Sticky gate.
(3) Agarwood: 3YO Filly who was very good two back finishing second behind BESKAR and beat BEADMAN who has since gone on to win. Tackled Group 3 most recently and got held up down the straight, so never got fully tested. Since trialled very well and Zac Lloyd remains in the saddle. Maps nicely and looks a nice value play here.
(3) Agarwood E/W
$6.00/$2.30 (1U/3U)
Race 8: Emirates Park Ortensia Stakes 1100m - 3:10pm (AEST)
(1) King Of Sparta: 7YO Gelding who is a talented sprinter and comes into this off a 80 week break. Has been trialling well and should be ready to fire first up. Enjoys the conditions and looks a nice blow out hope.
(9) Bevs Nice: 4YO Gelding who just kept winning making it five in a row and then had excuses two back when finishing rearward. Buttered up though and only went down to the talented ZEALOUSLY in listed grade most recently. Gets conditions to suit and draws kindly. Zac Lloyd steers. On top.
(12) Monte Supreme: Roughie of the field who rates pretty well. Early market support has been good and she is racing well enough to compete here. Draws very wide though which is the concern. Blow out hope.
(9) Bevs Nine Win
$5.50 (1.5 Units)
Race 10: Darley Luskin Star Stakes 1300m- 4:30pm (AEST)
(2) Linebacker: 4YO Gelding who is a very talented type and gets back to listed grade after competing against elite opposition at Group 1 level. Trialled well and Zac Lloyd is bullish on him, so he must go in. Major player and the one they all need to beat.
(6) Infancy: 5YO Mare who was only 2L off them at group 1 level first up and then finished second at Group 2 level over 1200m when running on. Gets out to 1300m now and being third up looks primed to run a big race. Blow out hope and one for the exotics.
(7) Know Thyself: 5YO gelding who has quite the CV with 8 wins from 13 career runs. Resuming today with three trials leading in and gets a lovely draw. Will be there abouts and must be respected.
Also Backing: (6) Infancy Win $26 (0.5 Units)
(2) Linebacker Win
$3.40 (2.5 Units)
