Gosford Racing Tips: Saturday, May 9th 2026
Race 4: Triple M Thunder Thousand BM78 1000m - 1:00pm (AEST)
(4) Crepe Myrtle: 4YO Mare who has been super consistent and resumed soundly over 1100m in this same class. Drops to 1000m now and will be fitter second up. Major player.
(5) Petticoat: 4YO Mare who resumes today and comes in off a nice trail win. She is unbeaten when fresh and has a good record over this trip. Drawn well and will be right in this. Take catching.
(6) Compensation: 3YO Gelding who has won his last two and did so in good fashion most recently. Drawn well for this and will be looking for the hatrick. Only knock is he gets an extra 3kg on top now. Major player.
(5) Petticoat - Win
$5.00 (1.5 Units)
Race 7: De Bortoli Wines takeover target Stakes 1200m LISTED - 2:45pm (AEST)
(2) King Of Roseau: 4YO Gelding who has been racing very well this prep with winning his last two over 1400m and 1300m including a Group 3 win. Has had 10 weeks off, but has trialled. Talented type and should be right in the finish. Each way play.
(4) Willaidow: 7YO Gelding who won over this trip first up at Group 3 level and then had excuses second up before finishing midfield over 1500m which was probably a touch too far for him. Freshened up now for this and has a good record over 1200m. Nash Rawiller who looks to have found his rhythm again gets the booking to boost confidence. Drawn well and rates highly. On top.
(6) Oak Hill: Roughie of the field who is generally his own worst enemy as he always settles rearward and leaves himself too much work to do late. Does have a good turn of foot and gets into a winnable race here. Draws okay and if he can settle midfield or better he is well within his rights to win this at big odds. Blow out hope.
(4) Willaidow - E/W
$7.50/$2.40 (1U/2U)
Race 9: Guardian Safety Solutions Gosford Gold Cup Listed 2100m - 4:00pm (AEST)
(1) Asterix: 7YO Gelding who was very good first up over 2000m where Jason Collett steered him well. Found a late gap and launched late to win at big odds against similar company. Capable of going on with things, but now gets 61kg on his back and draws barrier 18. Will need luck.
(4) Land Legend: 6YO gelding who looked to be back to his best last start when tackling 2000m and rattling home with the fastest 400m and 200m splits all while lugging 61kg. Gets 3.5kg relief now and will be benefitting nicely. Fourth up and ready to fire. Value play.
(11) You Wahng: 4YO Mare who loomed up as the winner last start over 2000m, but Asterix found that gap and launched late to pick her up. Gets a weight swing in her favour and draws nicely. Chance again.
(4) Land Legend - E/W
$9.50/$3.20 (1U/2U)
