The PGA Tour’s Florida Swing wraps up this week with the Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Resort’s Copperhead Course. A player favourite on the schedule, this event consistently delivers tight leaderboards and a stern test of precision over power. With a strong field featuring seven of the world’s top 20 players, the final stop in Florida offers one last chance to build momentum before the Tour shifts toward the Masters.

PGA Tour Valspar Championship Betting Tips

Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort, Thursday 19th - Sunday 22nd March

The Field

The Valspar Championship field strikes a balance between elite talent and emerging contenders. Xander Schauffele leads the way after his strong performance at THE PLAYERS, while defending champion Viktor Hovland returns looking to repeat after capturing his seventh Tour title here last year. Matt Fitzpatrick also arrives in excellent form following a runner-up finish at Sawgrass, adding further depth to the top tier.

Several big names continue their momentum through the Florida Swing. Justin Thomas builds on his return from injury after a top-10 finish last week, while Brooks Koepka has quietly found form with consecutive strong results. Akshay Bhatia also enters with confidence following his win at Bay Hill and another solid showing at THE PLAYERS.

The field also includes rising stars and young talents looking to break through. Jacob Bridgeman headlines that group as the current FedExCup leader, while players like Luke Clanton and Blades Brown continue to gain experience against stronger competition. With so many players in form, the tournament shapes as one of the more unpredictable events of the season.

The Course

The Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort is one of the most unique and demanding layouts on the PGA Tour. Playing as a par 71 at just over 7,300 yards, it places a premium on positioning rather than power. Tree-lined fairways, doglegs and elevation changes force players to think their way around the course rather than simply overpower it.

The defining feature is the “Snake Pit,” the brutal three-hole closing stretch that regularly determines the outcome of the tournament. Two difficult par fours sandwich a long par three, creating one of the toughest finishes on Tour. Players who can navigate this stretch under pressure often find themselves in contention late on Sunday.

Scoring at Copperhead is rarely easy. Winning totals typically sit in the low teens under par, and patience is essential. Players who control their approach shots, stay disciplined off the tee and limit mistakes will have the best chance to separate themselves in what is traditionally a tightly contested event.

Top Picks

Jacob Bridgeman continues to cement himself as one of the breakout stars of the 2026 season. Sitting atop the FedExCup standings, he arrives at Innisbrook with confidence and consistency on his side. His third-place finish here last year shows he’s already comfortable navigating the Copperhead layout, and his all-around game suits the course perfectly. Bridgeman combines strong ball striking with a calm temperament, which is critical on a track where avoiding mistakes is just as important as making birdies. This feels like a prime opportunity for him to take another step and contend again.

Xander Schauffele headlines the field and arrives in strong form after a solo third at THE PLAYERS. His consistency at the top level makes him a natural contender on a demanding layout like Copperhead, where precision iron play and course management are key. Schauffele has the ability to stay patient through difficult stretches while still capitalizing on scoring chances, a balance that is essential here. With momentum building and a field he can realistically dominate, he shapes as one of the most reliable picks of the week.

Value Picks

John Parry enters the week as an under-the-radar contender with the type of steady game that can thrive at Innisbrook. The Copperhead Course rewards disciplined ball striking and smart decision-making, both areas where Parry excels. If he can avoid big numbers through the demanding closing stretch, he has the potential to quietly climb the leaderboard and surprise in a wide-open field.

Ricky Castillo has already shown flashes of high-end potential this season and continues to trend upward. His recent win at the Puerto Rico Open secured his spot in stronger fields, and he brings momentum into the week. Copperhead can favour players who are confident and willing to take opportunities when they arise, and Castillo’s aggressive style could pay off if he finds early rhythm.
