Rosehill Gardens Racing Tips: Wednesday, February 25th 2026

Race 2: Rosehill Bowling Club Plate 1200m – 2:55pm (AEDT)

(3) Hay Street comes up a short-priced favourite in this maiden and it’s easy to see why looking at the three-year-old gelding’s form. Five starts for trainers Annabel and Rob Archibald have produced three runner-up performances, the latest behind Journeyman. The sectionals were strong from that race and Hay Street’s form, which includes racing at Group 3 level already, should be too strong for this field.

(4) Maidoff has been placed in three of four career starts, the latest was a third-placed effort at Wyong when beaten 1.6 lengths by Gravel Road. Looks a good chance to settle in the first four in running from barrier three, and if there’s going to be an upset, the Clarry Conners-trained gelding is the mostly likely to do so.

(6) Peleus is a stablemate to Hay Street and he is still chasing his maiden victory at his eighth career start here. Was runner up in a super maiden last start and steps up 200m for this race. He didn’t have the best of luck in that race either and probably deserved to win as he rattled home late.

(3) Hay Street WIN

$1.65 (3 Units)

Race 4: Ranvet Handicap 2400m – 4:05pm (AEDT)

(5) Lunar Lover is racing well over the 2400m with a win followed by a second placing behind Assailant in this grade. He will map to be in a stalking position from barrier three with Jason Collett retaining the ride for trainer Matthew Smith. If Lunar Lover runs up to last start’s effort, he is going to go very close to winning.

(2) Centenario tackles the 2400m for the first time which has to be a query as he is currently the $2.50 favourite for the race. A winner of three races and placed in another five from 14 starts, the five-year-old gelding should enjoy a nice run behind them and if he stays the trip, can assert his presence on the race.

(3) Stylebender should be leading from gate two and the eight-year-old gelding will have Mollie Fitzgerald riding once again – the pair were second two starts back and then victorious at the latest, winning over 2140m at Warwick Farm. On the quick back up and if the veteran can handle that, he will be in front for a long way.

(5) Lunar Lover WIN

$3.80 (1.5 Units)

Race 5: Anamoe First Yearlings Handicap 1100m – 4:40pm (AEDT)

(2) Banjora will try and remain unbeaten following a pair of wins to start his career. This is his first attempt at racing second-up in a preparation after a one-length victory at Gosford over 1000m. Barrier one could prove interesting as there is speed outside with Astronomix drawn directly outside likely to get across straight away. As long as jockey Zac Lloyd can settle close enough in the run, then I would trust that Banjora can let down strongly.

(4) Astronomix is a huge danger in the race with James McDonald riding. Not sure if he leads or takes a trail, but his latest effort when second to Ferinzo was good and the form out of the race has been quite good. Deserves huge respect here.

(1) Caesar resumed at Canterbury with a one-length victory over 1250m. Loses James McDonald from that victory which may be something to consider if backing this horse. Also drops back in trip second-up which looks interesting. The form is good though and Tim Clark is riding, so one of the key chances here.

(2) Banjora WIN

$2.30 (2 Units)
