Race 3: Asahi Super Dry BM72 1300m - 3:35pm (AEST)
(1) Mergeila: 4YO Mare who we were on last start at Canterbury and she drifted late in the piece, but proved too good in the wet conditions scoring by 3L. She has had a few weeks off since that run and gets back onto the dry track now where she is also a proven winner. She meets similar company and with the 3kg claim she has to be on top once again. Talented type and will be the one to beat.
(3) So You Pence: 6YO Mare who was terrific on return chasing the talented Our Queen over 1250m In this grade with a gap to third. She will only be improving and is unbeaten when second up from 2 attempts. $6 into $4.40 suggests the stable is bullish. Value.
(5) Rapbidash: 6YO Mare who was first up last start and chased gamely behind Mergeila in the testing conditions. Gets a lovely draw today and gets back on top of the ground where he is a 2 x winner. Improves second up and Joshua Parr sticks on for Baker. Plenty of early market support boosting confidence.

(4) Luskaire: 5YO Gelding who is looking to make it three on the trot here. He has been sensational in his last two on the heavy track scoring by 2L on both occasions. He is rock hard fit and gets in nicely with the 2kg claim. Wide draw the only concern and gets back on the dry, but is proven there also. Each way
(7) United Kingdom: 5YO Gelding who has been sound in his two return runs and chased nicely in the testing conditions last start. The rise in trip now looks ideal and with J-Mac sticking on there will be plenty of admirers. Drawn a lovely alley and gets back onto a dry track. Major player.
(10) San Giovanni: 3YO Gelding who notched up two handy wins to kick of his career and then jumped into open class over 1400m and settled at the rear and ran okay considering the class. Back in grade significantly now and only has to lug 54kg. Draws pole position and looks to improve stepping out in trip. Watch the market.

(8) Golden Straand: 4YO who was also superb hitting the line last start in this grade over 1100m. He was last at the turn and boasts some slick late sectionals. The rise in trip suits now and gets a handy draw. Rock hard fit and will once again be hitting the line intently. Remains at 57kg and is ready to win.
(9) Burma Star: 3YO Colt who proved far too good second up to break maiden scoring by 3.8L. He has went and trialled since and will be looking to go on with things now. J-Mac steers for Waller and there will be plenty of admirers. Wide draw the only concern.
