While there’s many ways to bet on the AFL Brownlow, one of the more popular Brownlow betting markets is the Team Votes. Forget who takes home the Medal…more importantly who is going to lead at YOUR club?
While many of the teams do have dominant winners, and there isn’t a lot of value in the markets, we have found a couple of spots that might be worth looking at. You can also use the information below to compare to your own numbers for other Brownlow markets such as head-to-head or group betting.
As always, we recommend that you don’t pay touts for this information when we provide it all for free! If you have any particular Brownlow requests, just hit us up on X @Before_You_Bet
And you can head to our 2025 Brownlow Leaderboard page for a breakdown of our Top 20 contenders and links to votes for every match of every round this season!

2025 Brownlow Team Votes
Adelaide
Total Votes: 95.5
Players polling: 15
Skipper Jordan Dawson is the clear winner at Adelaide. It’s hard to see anyone getting near that. Dawson is expected to be a contender for the Brownlow, but I think he’s going to fall just short of the big one.
In markets without Dawson, most sportsbooks have Rankine as a warm favourite ($1.30 at Ladbrokes), so there might be some value around Riley Thilthorpe ($3.20 at Unibet). We have Rankine polling in up to 9 matches, but Thilthorpe has more 3-vote games in the 7 matches we have him polling in.
Jordan Dawson - 24
Izak Rankine - 16
Riley Thilthorpe - 16
Ben Keays - 9
Alex Neale-Bullen - 5.5

Brisbane
Total Votes: 93.5

Hugh McLuggage ($1.15 at Betr) should win Brisbane pretty comfortably and there’s no value in the price, but might be good for adding to your multis. McLuggage did cost us badly in previous years, but the umpires won’t miss him this season.
Hugh McLuggage - 21.5
Josh Dunkley - 14
Lachie Neale - 13.5
Will Ashcroft - 12.5
Zac Bailey - 11
Carlton
Total Votes: 57
Players polling: 10
George Hewett ($1.50 at Ladbrokes) is the favourite at Carlton with Patrick Cripps ($2.75 at Betr) lurking close behind. We have Hewett with a small gap, but do you really want to be taking on Cripps after the way he polled last season?
George Hewett - 14.5
Patrick Cripps - 10.5
Harry McKay - 9
Sam Walsh - 7
Tom De Koning - 7
Collingwood
Total Votes: 87.5
Players polling: 16
Nick Daicos is a clear winner at Collingwood as he will be a very strong chance of winning the 2025 Brownlow Medal. Behind him, it looks a close battle between Josh Daicos ($2.50 at Ladbrokes) and Steele Sidebottom ($2.75 at Ladbrokes). There might be some value there from sportsbooks that overvalue the chances of Jamie Elliott ($5.50 at Ladbrokes).
Nick Daicos - 27.5
Josh Daicos - 12.5
Steele Sidebottom - 11.5
Jamie Elliott - 8.5
Darcy Cameron - 5.5
Essendon
Total Votes: 52.5
Players polling: 13
Zach Merrett ($1.03 at Ladbrokes) undoubtedly wins Essendon and unfortunately there’s no “without” markets available. Throw him in your multi if you like taking $1.03 odds.
Zach Merrett - 16
Nic Martin - 10.5
Andrew McGrath - 5
Jye Caldwell - 4
Mason Redman - 4
Fremantle
Total Votes: 82.5
Players polling: 10
Perhaps one of the more interesting team votes markets with Caleb Serong ($1.25 at Ladbrokes) and Andrew Brayshaw ($5.50 at Unibet) always locked in a close Brownlow battle. Unfortunately, the bookies haven’t given us any price at all on Serong as they perhaps have it more in his favour. There’s nice value in Brayshaw if you think he can pinch a few votes.
Caleb Serong - 21.5
Andrew Brayshaw - 18
Luke Jackson - 12
Jordan Clark - 9.5
Josh Tracey - 5
Shai Bolton - 5
Geelong
Total Votes: 95.5
Players polling: 12
Bailey Smith has had a sensational debut season for the Cats and will be a legitimate chance to win the Brownlow. However unfortunately the bookies haven’t given us a “without” market so you’ll have to take $1.05 at Ladbrokes for Smith to win Geelong and add him into your multi. A Max Holmes vs Jeremy Cameron for second at Geelong would’ve been a fun sweat.
Bailey Smith - 29
Max Holmes - 19
Jeremy Cameron - 16
Shaun Mannagh - 9.5
Patrick Dangerfield - 9
Gold Coast
Total Votes: 74.5
Players polling: 12
A two-horse race at the Gold Coast with the two young studs in Noah Anderson ($1.50 at Ladbrokes) and Matt Rowell ($2.50 at Betr) to go to battle. We have Anderson on top of the Brownlow leaderboard, so if Rowell starts to take votes from him, it will not only cost Anderson the win at Gold Coast but it could cost him the Medal as well. If you think Anderson is going to be favoured then you can lean into him here.
Noah Anderson - 30
Matt Rowell - 26
Ben King - 4
Touk Miller - 3
Bailey Humphrey - 3
GWS Giants
Total Votes: 85
Players polling: 14
Have we got it wrong at the Giants? No doubt Tom Green ($1.25 at Ladbrokes) will catch a lot of attention from the umpires under their noses at the bottom of the pack, but he is a difficult one to lineup in terms of influence on the game and attracting votes. Perhaps we’ve raised the bar high for him. Instead, we’ve leant to Finn Callaghan ($3.50 at Betr) who has demonstrated explosive burst and run through the lines which is not only damaging but eye-catching. With a 6 vote buffer in our counts, there’s huge value for us to back Callaghan at that price.
Finn Callaghan - 22.5
Tom Green - 16.5
Toby Greene - 14.5
Jesse Hogan - 8
Aaron Cadman - 6.5

Hawthorn
Total Votes: 78.5

A wide range of players polling votes at the Hawks with up to 19 different players potentially getting at least one vote. Jai Newcombe ($1.25 at Ladbrokes) should be pretty hard to knock off and offers something for your multis ahead of Dylan Moore ($5.50 at Betr). Watch for Will Day next season!
Jai Newcombe - 12
Dylan Moore - 9.5
Jack Gunston - 7.5
Jarman Impey - 7
Will Day - 6.5
Melbourne

Max Gawn ($1.10 at Ladbrokes) is the clear favourite for Melbourne but perhaps there’s some value in the price of Kysaiah Pickett ($13 at Unibet) for an upset as he had some brilliant matches this season.
Max Gawn - 16.5
Kysaiah Pickett - 13
Christian Petracca - 10
Jack Viney - 5

Another rough season for the Roos but Tristan Xerri ($1.25 at Ladbrokes) was the shining light with another tremendous season. We have him as a very comfortable winner over young guns Luke Davies-Uniacke ($5.50 at Unibet) and Harry Sheezel ($6.00 at Betr) so happy to add Xerri to our multis.
Tristan Xerri - 15.5
Luke Davies-Uniacke - 7.5
Harry Sheezel - 7
Tom Powell - 5
Colby McKercher - 4
Port Adelaide
Total Votes: 65

The dynamic duo of Zak Butters ($1.05 at Ladbrokes) and Connor Rozee ($10.00 at Betr) are the runaway leaders at Port Adelaide but there’s no value here for us at all.
Zak Butters - 22.5
Connor Rozee - 16.5
Mitch Georgiades - 9
Jason Horne-Francis - 8.5
Miles Bergman - 2

Again you won’t find any value at the Tigers with Tim Taranto ($1.03 at Betr) an overwhelming favourite.
Tim Taranto - 11.5
Nick Vlastuin - 6.5
Jacob Hopper - 4.5
Toby Nankervis - 3.5
Jack Ross - 2.5
St Kilda

Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera had a spectacular season but he’s probably the most overhyped in terms of winning the Medal as I don’t think he can get close enough at all. Thankfully, the bookies have given us a price for without NWM at St Kilda. It’s a close one in our counts, but it is a tricky market to predict with Jack Sinclair ($1.60 at Ladbrokes), just ahead of Rowan Marshall ($6.00 at Betr) and Marcus Windhager ($26.00). Jack Macrae ($3.50 at Ladbrokes) is fancied more by the bookies than us - this comes down to pure numbers versus overall influence on the match. Macrae finds the ball but doesn’t always use it well!
Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - 21
Jack Sinclair - 8.5
Rowan Marshall - 8
Marcus Windhager - 7.5
Jack Macrae - 5

A close race at Sydney where we have Isaac Heeney ($1.20 at Ladbrokes) and Brodie Grundy ($4.00 at Betr) neck and neck. It’s tough to call. Heeney had another strong year while Grundy was sensational through a 10-week period where he’ll collect all of his votes. You could argue that Grundy is the value at the price.
Isaac Heeney - 18.5
Brodie Grundy - 18
Chad Warner - 12.5
Errol Gulden - 7.5
Nick Blakey - 4.5

West Coast
Total Votes: 4.5
Players polling: 5
I don’t know if we’ve ever had a Brownlow team count as low as West Coast’s 4.5 votes this season. They are spread over five players who will be lucky to pinch a vote here or there. Harley Reid ($3.80 at Betr) is the only player we have potentially polling in more than one game, while Liam Baker ($4.50 at Unibet) is second favourite with most bookies and we don’t even have him polling a vote. He’s probably not the umpire’s favourite, but have to have a small bet on Harley Reid at the price.
Harley Reid - 1.5
Jake Waterman - 1
Tim Kelly - 1
Brady Hough - 0.5
Tom McCarthy - 0.5
Harley Reid to win West Coast

Western Bulldogs
Total Votes: 96
Players polling: 14
The predicted 96 votes of the Western Bulldogs is the most of any team this season, on the back of Marcus Bontempelli ($1.30 at Ladbrokes) who will storm home in the second half of the count. It’s hard to see him picking up enough random votes to challenge the overall leaders this season, but he should win the Bulldogs pretty comfortably as a good multi builder.
Marcus Bontempelli - 22
Tom Liberatore - 15.5
Ed Richards - 14
Sam Darcy - 11
Aaron Naughton - 9
