AFL Round 16’s feature matchup this Thursday night will see us travel to Adelaide Oval where Port Adelaide will host Carlton. This is a key clash for two teams sitting just on the outside of the top eight and tied on 6 wins. In fact, the loser of this game might stamp their papers for the season on finals hopes.
As always this is all about the daily fantasy and this massive Thursday night game draws another massive $50,000 prize pool at Draftstars in their main contest. In addition, there are a variety of alternate contests:

AFL $5,000+ Power vs Blues High Roller ($150 Entry)

AFL Power vs Blues: Where to Attack?
Port Adelaide have been one of the stingiest teams to opposition backs and midfielders this season. Where they have been exposed is to key forwards where they are giving up the third most points per game at over 6 points above league average, and to rucks where they are conceding over 12 points per game above league average (also third most in the league).
Carlton are also a relatively stingy team from a fantasy scoring perspective. They are giving up above average points to midfielders (just over 1 point per game above league average), as well as to general defenders and general forwards.

AFL Power vs Blues: Our Value Fantasy Picks
Josh Sinn ($7,630) has had the best season of his short career in 2025, which to be honest isn’t saying all that much, but on a slate like this where picking the value will be a challenge, he offers what is looking like a very safe floor. He is coming off back to back games of 60 and 73 fantasy points and demonstrated an upside of 90 points earlier in the season.
Cooper Lord ($9,280)… things didn’t go all that well for Lord last week being subbed off for a score of 24. Prior to that he has not gone under 71 points for five straight games, and I will back in that last week was more of an anomaly. Without Walsh in the lineup there should be more opportunity through the midfield, and when he plays a full game he scores at a high rate of fantasy points per minute.
AFL Power vs Blues: Our Mid Price Fantasy Picks
Charlie Curnow ($10,450) continues some of the worst form of his career with back to back scores of 25 and 27 fantasy points. This is no time to miss his bounce back game as we noted above Port Adelaide are one of the best matchups in the league for key forwards, and the Power will have no one to matchup on Charlie. If you're concerned with his form, it is easy to shift roster spots to a more in form key forward in Mitch McGovern ($10,130) who is coming off a 97 point game last week.
AFL Power vs Blues: Our Premium Fantasy Picks
Tom De Koning ($13,860) has had two games of 109+ fantasy points from his last three games with last weeks 73 point game coming in a very tough matchup against Xeri. This week, as we touched on earlier, will be against the third best matchup in the league and to make matters even better, there will be no Marc Pittonet in the team to split some of the ruck duties.
Connor Rozee ($16,010) like the majority of Port is coming off a rough game last week against the Swans and will be looking for a big bounce back performance. Prior to last week he had logged five straight games of 105+ fantasy points including three of 117 or more. He spent more time in the midfield last week than he had since Round 4 as Bergman went back - either role suits but if he returns to half back this week I love this roster.
