NFL Week 13 Betting Tips
New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons
Monday 5am (AEDT)
Interesting clash here between two NFC South rivals as the Falcons host the Saints from 5am on Monday morning. The Saints sit atop the division with a 9-2 record and have won their last eight games on the trot, the last two of which came without star quarterback Drew Brees at the helm. Brees is still on the injury list, so it will be up to backup Taysom Hill once again this week, who has been serviceable over the two games so far.
The Falcons started the season in horrendous form but have bounced back to win three of their last four games. Their only loss over that stretch came at the hands of the Saints, when they travelled to New Orleans in Week 11. They recorded a massive win over the Raiders on the weekend, putting up 43 points including five field goals from kicker Brandon Powell.
Just 33 points were scored between these two teams back in Week 11, but we think this could be a higher scoring game, particularly given the offence that the Falcons found in their win over the Raiders. The Saints are one of the highest scoring teams in the competition at 29.6 points per game and the over has hit in seven of their 11 games.
Los Angeles Rams at Arizona Cardinals
Monday 8.05am (AEDT)
This is the biggest game of the week in terms of the playoff picture. The Seahawks urrently sit atop the NFC West division with an 8-3 record but breathing down their necks is both the Rams at 7-4 and the Cardinals at 6-5. If The Rams win here, they will draw level with the Seahawks on wins and challenge for what has been the most competitive division in the league so far.
The Cardinals are coming off two straight losses to the Seahawks and Patriots but if they can win here, they set themselves off to secure a playoff berth with really winnable games against the Giants, Eagles and 49ers over the next three weeks. The Rams were upset by the 49ers on the weekend, snapping a two game winning streak of impressive wins over the Seahawks and Buccaneers.
Like the value of the Rams here. They have been in much better form than the Cardinals of late, proving it with their two big wins over NFC giants in the last three weeks. Three point spread seems a little low given the Cardinals have lost their last two and are on the slide.
Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs
Monday 12.20pm (AEDT)
The AFC West is a foregone conclusion at this stage, with the Chiefs holding a strong advantage with a 10-1 record, four wins ahead of the trailing Raiders and six ahead of their opponents on Monday, the Broncos. The Chiefs are on a six game winning streak since losing to the Raiders earlier in the season and are coming off a fantastic win over the Buccaneers in Week 12 as Patrick Mahomes put up 462 yards and three touchdowns.
The Broncos have been through the ringer over the last week. They were forced to play without a single quarterback on the weekend after all three of their rostered QB’s were ruled out with COVID-19 concerns. They will get starter Drew Lock back this week, but even with him, they will start as massive 13.5 point underdogs at home against the Chiefs.
One thing that has been pretty consistent in this matchup over the years is points. The two teams combined for 59 points in their meeting earlier this season and three of their previous five games had resulted in at least 49 points. Back the over here as KC could easily put up 35+.
