Horse Racing Tips - Wednesday, April 21st
Canterbury Race 4
Thought (2) Fifteen Aria looked one of the better bets on the card and is a horse with plenty of improvement still to come. 2 wins from 3 career starts with the last of those coming last start at Hawkesbury beating home the smart Yardstick. Should enjoy all favours from barrier 4 and take beating again.
Canterbury Race 7
Pretty keen on the chances of (6) Avion Fury who drops out of Group 3 company today. He was far from disgraced there, finishing 5th behind Shared Ambition in his latest outing. Has won over this track/trip three starts back and gets in well with just 55kg. Will be going very close. The obvious danger is (8) Solar Apex who is looking close to breaking through after a string of placings. The most recent was a hard fought 2nd behind a nice horse and should enjoy every favour from the low draw with Berry to ride.
Bendigo Race 4
(6) Yensir looks a big chance coming back in trip after a huge victory in the Von Doussa at Oakbank in his Australian debut. He beat arguably Australia’s best jumper in Zed Em there and will take massive improvement from that tough win. Think he will easily be the fittest horse in this race and has a placing over this trip to his name.
Bendigo Race 7
Tricky little race but thought (11) Dirty Deeds will be hard to beat with Kah to ride from the good gate. Has been running well in this grade without breaking through but this looks as good a chance as he’ll get. Returns to Bendigo where he has a good record and should enjoy the perfect run throughout.
Murray Bridge Race 8
Making a rare trip to SA but think there is a very good horse here in (5) Reynolds. Has won his first two starts here in Australia since arriving from Hong Kong very impressively and now takes the logical step up in grade. The horse he beat last start has since come out and won and I like the step up to the mile here today. (10) Frankel Star is the value in the race having put together two straight wins and should race up on the speed from the low draw.
