Geelong will host midweek racing in Victoria this week and followers will want a fill up before the Easter long weekend begins. The weather looks fine and the first race starts at 1:20pm (AEDT) for the maidens over 1100m. The track is currently rated a Soft 5 but with sunny and warm conditions at the time of typing, a Good track is not out of the question. My best three bets are below!

Geelong Racing Tips: Wednesday, April 1st 2026
Race 2: Oasis Turf 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate 1200m - 1:55pm (AEDT)
(1) Bonus Season for the Graheme Begg stable looks hard to beat here. A Dry track would suit as she has placed on both occasions but she should be good enough anyway after running on very well at this track last start over the same distance. She was slowly away that day and Jordan Childs might settle her closer in this one.
(4) Farakta is the main danger after she hit the line well at Pakenham last start. Steps up 100m which looks ideal and Damien Lane is taking the ride. Probably could have won on debut if had more room.
(7) Tisseyre was 2nd on debut at Moe and then 5th at Sale in a strong race. The stable then went harder and she was no match for Salty Pearl in the Group 2 Classic. Easier here and looks a good Place bet.
(1) Bonus Season WIN
$2.40 (2 units)
Race 4: Bennett Racing BX66 Handicap 1700m - 3:05pm (AEDT)
(1) Houdini will want a track upgrade here and if it becomes Good then he has a huge chance. Last start at Pakenham he almost won when 2nd and he was supported into $3.00 on that occasion. HIs Soft track form however isn’t great so punters need to be mindful of that. Drops back 300m for this race and Ethan Brown is back on after winning on top two starts back.
(3) Diamond Gust is an on-pace galloper for Matt Laurie. He was midfield in the VOBIS Guineas last start and from barrier 5 here Jamie Mott has a few options. He will go to the lead or try and settle behind the leader I reckon.
(4) Lario is another who is better suited on a Good track. He is very consistent and despite missing out his last couple he has been in it for a long way.
(1) Houdini WIN
$2.80 (2 units)
Race 8: Statewide Coolrooms 0-66 Handicap 1300m -5:25pm (AEDT)
(3) Mr Blunt has drawn wide but drops in class after being a beaten favourite last start at Caulfield Heath (6th). He is second up and last time he was second up he was victorious. Harry Coffey is on again and is in fine form and I think he may try to lead on him from barrier 11.
(7) Dobkins has drawn well in 2 and Linda Meech stays on. Comes over from The Bool and can settle handy or go back and run on very well. Has run in harder races than this.
(6) Battle Of The Ice is resuming from a spell and has had four jumpouts leading into this so should be fit enough. Last run was 3rd at Mornington in what was a pretty strong race so this looks easier. Lachie Neindorf rides and will have a decision to make being in barrier 10 which is next to the favourite (Mr Blunt).
(3) Mr Blunt WIN
$3.80 (1 unit)
