Flemington Racing Tips: Sunday, February 9th
(1) Villa Sarchi carries top weight of 62.5kg here, which isn't ideal first up from a spell, but she goes very well fresh with two wins and a 3rd from three starts when first up. First up last prep she came from last to charge home over the top and win impressively over this distance at Sandown. She might need a bit of luck from the inside gate but I think she's the class runner of the field and if she can reproduce that kind of performance first up again, she'll be hard to hold out. (8) Pariano is undefeated from three starts when first up, so it's no surprise they've given her seven weeks off since her last start, which was a win. She should lead and take some catching.
(11) Proper Rogue was backed as if they already knew the result last start, which was his first run as a gelding. He scrambled in after sitting three-wide the trip and making a mid-race move around the field, so although he wasn't visually very impressive, I think he can probably measure up to this with an easier run. He has some solid form from hsi debut prep and I would expect he's taken some improvement from that first up win at Geelong. The favourite (5) Scipio is the one to beat.
(11) Lianne really, really gets her chance to win again today. I'm starting to think she's a bit of a herd chaser but she didn't get much luck last start so I'll give her the chance to prove me wrong today. her form around the likes of King Of Hastings and especially News Girl should see her very hard to beat in this. She was only 1.5L off News Girl last start after being held up at a crucial stage, and News Girl has since won again and then run 2nd yesterday. The form is strong, this isn't a tough race, and with any luck she should be winning. (5) Delusions is the danger and value at $6.50 with Williams on board.
