EPL: Week 36 Preview & Betting Tips

April 24th 2018, 4:12pm, By: andyrosos

We hit on 1 of 3 bets in last week’s EPL betting tips as some games become a little bit difficult to predict as we wind down the season. There is still a massive fight in the relegation so plenty of important games to look forward to this weekend. We preview the key games of the weekend and give our tips below.

EPL Week 36 Betting Tips

Southampton vs Bournemouth (Sunday 12am AEST)

Southampton are on the verge of being relegated to the Championship for the first time since the 2011-12 season so this home game against Bournemouth is an absolute must win. The Saints currently sit four points behind Swansea, and will need to make that deficit up over their next four games. Luckily for them they play a game against Swansea, but also face Manchester City in the last game of the season.

The Saints have won just one of their last ten matches, and have only won five games total this season, which is the second worst mark in the league. They are, however, coming off a couple of decent performances in the EPL, losing 3-2 to Chelsea a couple of weeks ago before drawing with Leicester on the weekend.

After being eliminated from the FA Cup on the weekend, their full focus should now be on staying in the Premier League next season and we expect them to come our on top at home with their life on the line against Bournemouth.

TIP: Southampton to win - $1.67 at Sportsbet

Manchester United vs Arsenal (Monday 1.30am AEST)

The match of the round sees Manchester United hosting Arsenal on Monday morning. Arsenal have had a season to forget this year, currently sitting in 6th place after being firmly entrenched in the top four earlier in the season. They have five wins and five losses in their last ten games, which is a perfect assessment of how inconsistent their season has been so far.

Manchester United are in no danger of dropping out of the top four, but they’ll still be pushing to get as close as they can to their cross-town rivals in Manchester City. They do have an FA Cup tie to prepare for, but given that its not until late May, they should be at full strength for this clash.

Manchester United haven’t lost at home to Arsenal since the 2015 season, three games in total, and they were big 3-1 winners over the Gunners at the Emirates back in December of last year. Manchester United have all of the form here but given Arsenal play three teams placed under them to round out the season, this could be their last chance to prove themselves and salvage something from this disappointing season. I’m backing the value here and taking Arsenal with the double chance.

TIP: Arsenal (double chance) - $2.70 at CrownBet

Tottenham vs Watford (Tuesday 5am AEST)

While they currently sit fourth on the EPL table, Tottenham aren’t out of the woods yet as they are just five points clear of Chelsea, who have been playing some great football lately. They’ll be desperate to hold onto their fourth position and qualify for next season’s Champions League, so this weekend’s game against Watford is a big one.

Watford are in a pretty enviable position of just being able to cruise out the remainder of the EPL season. They are in very little danger of falling into the relegation race, however, a top ten finish isn’t out of the question for the Hornets, as they currently sit just 3 points behind Newcastle in 10th spot.

Tottenham have won 7 of their last 10 games and lost just one in that time. Harry Kane continues to be a dominant force in the league, already racking up 24 goals this season and he isn’t out of the Golden Boot race, just four behind Mohamed Salah, expect the Spurs to be aggressive here and win to nil.

TIP: Tottenham to win to nil - $1.80 at Sportsbet
