EPL 2025-26: Matchday 13 Preview & Betting Tips

Crystal Palace vs Manchester United

Selhurst Park, Sunday 30 November 11:00pm AEDT

Crystal Palace have a chance to jump into the top four when they host Manchester United at Selhurst Park. Palace are back on an upward trend, going unbeaten in their last three games, after going winless in the three games prior, sitting just one point outside of the top four. After going on a run of four wins from five games that had them on the cusp of the top four, Manchester United have had a reality check, with two draws and a loss from their last three games.

The big concern for United is that their winless run has come against 9th, 11th and 16th on the table. Remarkably for the Red Devils, they’re only three points off fourth place, despite being 10th of the table. Another concern for Ruben Amorim is the gap in defensive quality between the two sides. Manchester United are ranked 13th in defence, having conceded 19 goals from 12 games, while Palace are the second best defensive side in the Premier League, conceding just nine goals. The Red Devils have recorded one sheet this season, while Crystal Palace have recorded six.

Crystal Palace are unbeaten in six games at home this season, while Manchester United have a miserable 1-3-2 record in away games this season. Crystal Palace have shown a great ability to be rock solid defensively, which has given them a base to be consistent from each week, regardless of who they play. Manchester United have shown for a long time they aren’t capable of bringing that quality on a week to week basis. Crystal Palace are building nicely, and will be too good for United at home.

West Ham vs Liverpool

London Stadium, Monday 1st December, 1:05am AEDT

West Ham have begun lifting themselves out of the relegation zone, with two wins and a draw from their last three games. The Hammers have lifted their attacking game in a big way, scoring eight goals in their last three games after scoring just seven goals through their first nine games of the season. West Ham will be confident of continuing that run against a Liverpool defence that is one of the worst defences in the Premier League, having conceded 20 goals.

It’s nearing crisis time at Liverpool as pressure continues to mount on Arne Slot, recording just three points in their last seven games. Last week was arguably rock bottom, being smashed 3-0 by a Nottingham Forest side that is in the midst of a relegation battle. How the mighty have fallen, after Matchday 5 Liverpool sat at the top of table with five wins, six points clear of second place. Since then, Liverpool have lost six of their last seven games in the Premier League, and have lost nine of their last twelve games in all competitions. Liverpool’s last three games have been defeats by scorelines of 3-0, 3-0 and 4-1.

Despite all the doom and gloom, the reality is the defending champions are taking on a side that has only won three out of twelves games this season. West Ham are ranked 19th for goals against (25 goals conceded) and 12th in goals for (15 goals scored). It’s been a horror run of form for the Reds, they get a golden opportunity to steady the ship against a side that is 17th on the table. Liverpool will bounce back and put a stop to their losing slide.

Chelsea vs Arsenal

Stamford Bridge, Monday 1st December, 3:30am AEDT

Stamford Bridge plays host to one of the most important games of the season, with a top of the table clash between second placed Chelsea and first placed Arsenal. Arsenal had a dream weekend on Matchday 13, with Manchester City losing to Newcastle and then beating Tottenham 4-1 has Arsenal now six points clear on top of the league. Manchester City’s slip up also benefitted Chelsea, who moved into second place thanks to a 2-0 win over Burnley.

The battle in the midfield will be crucial in deciding the outcome of this game. Chelsea (58.9%) and Arsenal (58.3%) rank second and third respectively in the Premier League for possession. Both teams ability to control possession in games has fed into strong production in the front third, with Arsenal the most prolific team in the league with 24 goals and Chelsea ranked third for goals scored with 23. Winning the possession battle will give the greatest opportunity to gain control in this matchup.

As expected with a side going as well as Arsenal are, they have been brilliant away from home this season. The Gunners have a 4-1-1 record in away games this season, while two of Chelsea’s three losses have come at home. Arsenal have hardly put a foot wrong this season and continue to find ways to win in important clashes, which is something that has shot them in the foot in recent failed title challenges. Monday morning will be a big challenge but the Gunners will step up and extend their lead at the top of the table.
