EPL Betting Tips Matchday 27
Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur
Saturday, 11:30pm AEDT
Chelsea are going through another testing period in the EPL having gone winless in their last four matches (D2, L2). Last time out they were embarrassed by old rivals Manchester United (2-0) at Stamford Bridge, which had to have hurt quite a lot. The Blues are now in big danger of falling outside the top four if their winless run doesn’t come to an end this weekend.
Tottenham Hotspur have endured a pretty disappointing season to date, but have come to life in the league in recent weeks winning three matches in a row. One of those victories came at home against Manchester City, while the others were against bottom dwellers in Villa and Norwich. The Spurs lost the first leg of their UCL game midweek against RB Leipzig, so they’ll be looking to put in a much better performance this weekend.
Chelsea come into this as the odds on favourites, which is a little confusing considering their form of late. That said, Tottenham do have a number of key players under an injury cloud and their depth certainly isn’t fantastic. All things considered, we’re keen to take the odds available on the Spurs getting at least a point from this fixture.

Sheffield United vs Brighton & Hove Albion
Sunday, 2am AEDT
Sheffield United have been one of the feel good stories this season and just continue to plug along nicely. They’ve been sitting in the top six for the majority of this campaign, which is a phenomenal effort from a newly promoted side. The Blades have also been great in recent weeks and come into this on a three game winning streak in all competitions.
Brighton’s purple patch of form has certainly come to an end and it seems as though they’ll be a major player in the relegation battle this season as a result. They’ve only secured maximum points from one of their past 10 league fixtures (D5, L4), which isn’t going to cut it if they’re to stay afloat this campaign. They’re currently sitting on 27 points after 26 fixtures, which is three points clear of the drop zone.
Sheffield United are clearly the better club in this matchup and the odds simply don’t reflect that. They should be far shorter than 2/1, so we’ll be backing them into anywhere around $1.60. We’re predicting the Blades to win comfortably and to continue their pursuit of the top four.
Liverpool vs West Ham United
Tuesday, 7am AEDT
Liverpool suffered a rare loss midweek in the Champions League, going down to Atletico 1-0 on the road. That’s just their third loss in major competitions this season, none of which have come in the Premier League. The Reds come into this on a 17 match winning streak in the league and don’t look like slowing down anytime soon.
West Ham United are one of many teams battling it out in the bottom half of the table at the moment. They’re currently sitting in 18th spot with just six wins to their name this season, two of which have come from their past 10 outings (D2, L6). The Hammers have been in plenty of positions to claim points this season, but seem to consistently concede goals at crucial stages.
Liverpool are obviously the far better team in this matchup for a number of reasons. One of the key reasons is how compact they’ve been defensively, conceding just ONCE in their past 11 league fixtures. Further, the Hammers have only scored 10 goals from their 13 away fixtures this season, which makes the Liverpool to win to nil market look like excellent value.
