Caulfield will host Easter Saturday racing this week in the state of Victoria and it's not a bad program after a successful Australian Cup Day last week. The weather has been pretty warm throughout the week and Caulfield is expected to be rated a Good4 on the day. The Group 3 Easter Cup run over 2000m is the race of the day where Ambassadorial goes for three wins in a row and he is the current favourite for the Anthony&Sam Freedman stable.
Brendan Bunworth brings us his best bets of the day and Quaddie tips below. Create an account with Picklebet and enjoy Top 4 racing to give you an extra place in every race!
Caulfield Racing Tips: Saturday, April 4th 2026
Race 2: Elvis Thurgood Memorial 1600m - 12:40pm (AEDT)
(3) Terilee can make it two in a row here I reckon after she was too good for them at Hillside on February 25. Does have to carry three extra kilograms for Cartwright but her latest win was pretty easy and the extra 200m looks as though it will suit. She settled in the second half of the field last time but from barrier 2 a midfield settling position looks ideal.
(4) A Diva will go forward and enjoy another Dry track. She was well supported in betting last time and she doesn’t lose much with Ben Melham off and Jye McNeil on.
(9) Pula will go forward with A Diva I reckon and if they don’t take each other on she should be in the finish. LIkes Dry tracks and has placed on two occasions over the mile already.
(4) Terilee WIN
$2.20 (3 units)
Race 4: Bert Bryant Handicap 2400m - 1:50pm (AEDT)
(9) Pantile Warrior should be just about fully wound up now and the Frankel/Bahlia Breeze gelding is up to a more suitable distance of 2400m. Back to a Good track here might be better as well because last start on the Heavy at Flemington he folded over the final 100m. He finished 3rd over the 2400m at Ascot and the Danny O’Brien Team believe he will get 3200m in the Spring. Note: Pantile Warrior is a likely shortener in the market if Ambasadorial is scratched,
(5) Bluestone we backed on this website last start but he was 2nd only beaten less than half a length at this track. Likes this distance and should be placing again in this race.
(2) Xtra Rush will roll forward but this is a big test for him at this distance against opposition who are proven. Likes Dry ground though and almost led all of the way here on March 14.
(1) Ambassadorial is likely to be running in the Easter Cup (race eight)
(9) Pantile Warrior WIN
$4.00 (2 units)
Race 10: Noel Rundle Handicap 1400m - 5:35pm (AEDT)
(8) Everain settled handy to the speed and was too good for them last time on a Dry track at Hillside. Another Dry track here helps his cause and he is already a proven Caulfield winner. He goes well fresh and I don’t think he would have done much work since his latest victory. He has been settling closer to the speed his last couple. Each-Way.
(9) Gold Medalist is running well and gets the claim with Emily Pozman on. Was a 2L winner here on March 21 in front of the well tried Enamorada and she is likely to settle just behind Everain so might get the last crack at him.
(6) Porter is consistent but faded out of it last start to finish 5th. Went to hard last start though and will try and get slow sectionals early.
(8) Everain Each-Way
$8.00/$2.50 (1 unit)
