BBL11 Season Preview & Betting Tips
Championship Prediction
The Sixers start as firm favourites to go back to back in BBL11 after claiming the title last season. They have ran back largely the same outfit, and why wouldn't they when they have a squad that strong. West Indian Carlos Braithwaite was a late withdrawal from the tournament and has been replaced by Englishman Chris Jordan. The Sixers will also get Tom Curran in for the entire season this year, which should strengthen both their batting and bowling line-up.
The Sixers are also one of the few teams in the Big Bash League that is unlikely to be affected by any international duty. With only the Test matches set to clash with the BBL season this year, not any limited overs cricket, the Sixers shouldn't have any problems with selection. Take the price offered at Picklebet!
Top Tournament Runscorer
I've got one favourite and one dark horse that I really like in this category this year. The favourite that tickles my fancy is the big stallion Marcus Stoinis. Stoinis has been arguably the best batsman in the BBL over the past few years, plundering 533 runs in 2018, 705 runs in 2019 and another 396 runs last season. He will not be affected by international duty at all this season and will spend the entire year at the top of the order for the Melbourne Stars. He is also coming off six straight months of T20 cricket with the Dehli Capitals and the Australian International side.
The dark horse that I like is Sydney Sixers opener Daniel Hughes. Like Stoinis, Hughes will spend the whole season at the top of the order for the Sixers, so will get ample opportunity to score runs. He is a perrenial runscorer in the BBL, smashing 1789 runs in 80 BBL games at an avearge of 27.95. He is coming off some great performances for NSW in both List A and First Class matches in 2021, averaging 40.2 in 16 combined Shield and Cup games.

Top Tournament Wicket Taker
I honestly think that over the past few years, Rashid Khan has been overtaken by his countryman as the best T20 spin bowler in the world. Mujeeb Ur Rahman is an absolute magician with the white ball and claimed 14 wickets in an interupted BBL campaign last year which saw him play just eight games. He'll be back with the Heat full time this season and he is my pick for top tournamnet wicket taker.
My dark horse in this category has to be Thunder spinner Tanveer Sangha. The young sensation picked up 21 wickets in just 15 games for Sydney last season and should only get better with another year of experience under his belt. I couldn't believe how far down the list I had to scroll before I got to his name, with some outlets offering as high as $26 for him to top the wicket takers tally.
