Easter Monday will complete Round 6 for the 2025 AFL Premiership season with the traditional matchup between Geelong and Hawthorn at the MCG. This is an absolute monster clash between two old rivals and both sides looking to solidify their position in the top eight, or even better top four.

Weather
21 degrees and a shower or two. High chance of showers at up to 5mm most likely during the mid morning. The MCG should be well dried out by game time but keep an eye on the conditions as the game approaches and look to inside players, tacklers and rucks if it is wet.
Where to Attack?
Starting with the midfield, Geelong have been giving up slightly above league average to inside mids through the 2025 season. This is coming off a 2024 where they were one of the top teams to target with midfielders. In a single game slate it is worth comparing this against the opponent, and it's likely no shock that the Hawks have been one of the toughest teams to score against through the middle this year, giving up the third fewest in the league. Therefore, stacking up Hawks through the midfield looks an obvious play.
Geelong have also been a great team to target with half backs and rucks, while the Hawks have been barely above league average for any position in fantasy points conceded.

VALUE PLAYS
Oisin Mullin ($6,000) value is very hard to come by on this slate, and I will be looking for safe floors. Mullin has average 45 points on the season despite sub impacted scores and returned two scores of 81 and 52 in the last three weeks. If you are stacking up Cats backs against the Hawks this is a nice area to save salary.
MID PRICED PLAYS
Connor Nash ($10,870) has seen a nice price drop after an injury-affected score of 26 last week. Prior to that game he had a season low of 75 points with an upside of over 100 points. This makes for a value proposition at this price point on a single game slate. Nash plays exclusively through the midfield giving him plenty of opportunity for fantasy scoring and if the rain impacts the game at all it will help his contested game style.
Lawson Humphries ($12,060) has primarily been the designated kicker for the Cats in recent weeks, which has been one area where the Hawks have conceded above average fantasy scores. If your game script is for Hawthorn to be on top through the midfield this will lead to plenty of opportunity for Geelong backs and stacking their defenders makes for a solid play on this slate.
PREMIUM PLAYS
Lloyd Meek ($13,840) will have one of the best matchups in the league for a ruck against the Cats lineup of Rhys Stanley. Geelong have been giving up over 10 points above league average to rucks through five games, and Meek will have the ruck role to himself in this matchup. Meek has shown ability to hit over 100 fantasy points twice this season with another score of 97 as well.
Jai Newcombe ($15,540) has hit a solid patch of fantasy form over the last three weeks with two scores of 118 and 142. This should be an elite matchup for Jai with Geelong getting killed by inside midfielders over the past year. Furthermore if the conditions are a little wet it will suite Newcombe’s game style completely.
