AFL Round 17’s Sunday slate offers a fun two game slate getting underway at the SCG with a game between Sydney and Fremantle. The Dockers are on a roll and are looking to move further up the ladder before their finals campaign commences, while Sydney’s chance at playing any finals this year is looking all but finished. We then cap the day off over in Adelaide where the Adelaide Crows will host the Melbourne Demons. The Crows are two points behind second place and will be doing everything in their power to secure a home final in the first week of the finals.
As always, this is all about the daily fantasy and this Sunday slate draws another massive $50,000 prize pool at Draftstars in their main contest, plus more qualifiers for the $1 million AFL Star contest! In addition, there are a variety of alternate contests:
AFL $5,000+ Sunday High Roller ($150 Entry)
AFL $3,000+ Sunday Mini ($2 Entry)

AFL Fantasy Round 17 – Sunday – Where to Attack?
There is going to be a stand out play on this slate with Adelaide heavy favourites against Melbourne over in Adelaide. While Melbourne’s defence has kept opposition forwards at around league average for fantasy points this season they, have been giving up scores to inside midfielders (over 3 points per game higher than average), and massive fantasy points to attacking half backs (over 8 points per game above league average), and designated kickers (over 6 points per game above league average). Meanwhile, on the other side of this contest Adelaide have given up one of the lowest amounts of fantasy points of any team this season.
In the other match, both teams are relatively stingy and with the game played at the SCG, I wouldn’t expect anything less. Swans do love giving up points to attacking half backs, which is an area of the ground that Fremantle love to possess the ball.

AFL Fantasy Round 17 – Sunday – Our Value Fantasy Picks
Isaac Cumming ($9,000) has shown ability to return value at this price point with two scores of 81 and 97 points from his last four games. This is an elite matchup for him as Melbourne give up plenty of points to teams across the wings and stacking up those outside players for Adelaide will be a great strategy on this slate.
Neil Erasmus ($9,530) has been starting to show some stability with fantasy scoring at a senior level in recent weeks with two scores of 80+. He is only seeing around 20-40% of centre bounces but that is at least giving him opportunity in his natural role. This will be a challenging slate for value options so going with players who have shown recent form is a solid play.
AFL Fantasy Round 17 – Sunday – Our Mid Price Fantasy Picks
Daniel Curtin ($10,940) has been the talk of the league this week after a massive breakout game last round. Curtin absolutely destroyed the Tigers with 26 touches, 8 marks en route to 118 fantasy points in a best on ground performance. Prior to this he had shown plenty of consistency in this role on the wing with four straight games of at least 70 fantasy points, which means he holds a solid floor. While Melbourne are not as bad as Richmond, they still give up truck load of points to the attacking half back and winger roles.
AFL Fantasy Round 17 – Sunday – Our Premium Fantasy Picks
Jordan Clark ($14,800) has had three games from his last four at 120+. Coming into this week he's facing Sydney who are giving up the third most points in the league to attacking half backs, so there is a real strong chance that this scoring outburst continues. SCG is always a worry and there is potential for a tag watch after what the Swans did to Bailey Dale in the second half last week, but before that Dale had a huge first half so the trend is right there for the taking.
Brodie Grundy ($16,030) is the form ruckman in the competition right now with his lowest score from the last seven games being 111 points. There is no easy ruck to target on this slate, however Fremantle are the only team on the slate that gives up league average scoring to the position. So I will use the in form ruck and take advantage of that, if he just gets his average, especially recent average, we will be laughing.
