AFL Daily Fantasy Lineup Tips: Round 12 Collingwood vs Hawthorn
AFL Magpies vs Hawks: Where to Attack?
This game is going to be very challenging to work through from a fantasy perspective. As usual with two top teams there are little gaps to target in terms of them giving up points. The Magpies have been locking down teams completely up forward, restricting key forwards to the lowest fantasy points in the league this year. The only areas where they give up above average points is across the back line, which is no great shock given the ball spends a lot of time down that end of the ground. They are conceding over 2 points above league average to both attacking half backs and general backs. Hawthorn on the other hand are holding teams to below average points across all positions apart from the ruck.
Game Script – Collingwood forwards and midfielders, Hawthorn backs
AFL Magpies vs Hawks: Our Value Fantasy Picks
Tom Barrass ($6,480) perhaps seems like an unusual play but I love looking to him in a Hawks back stack on this slate. Finding the cheap value will be a challenge and as noted above, the Magpies are giving up above average points to defenders this year.
Will Hoskin-Elliot ($6,980) is another solid option to consider on this slate given his price point scoring potential. There is a SUB WATCH on this one, but if he plays a full game he is underpriced coming off an 52 and 63 point game from his last two matches.
AFL Magpies vs Hawks: Our Mid Price Fantasy Picks
Josh Weddle ($10,550) is really starting to break out over the last month. Long heralded as a youngster with one of the highest potential in the league over the last four games, he has posted three scores over 80 fantasy points and looks to be spending a lot more of his time in a role across half back. This role suits the narrative of where the Magpies concede points and he will slide nicely into a Hawks back stack.
Jamie Elliot ($11,260) has been in as good as form as ever this season, especially in recent weeks where he has posted 96 and 108 point scoring games from his last three outings. I expect him to take advantage of the Hawks tall backline in this matchup in a solid Collingwood win.
AFL Magpies vs Hawks: Our Premium Fantasy Picks
Darcy Cameron ($15,470) just a no brainer here with Mason Cox back out of the lineup leaving sole ruck duties to Cameron. As noted above, the one area where the Hawks are giving up above average fantasy points is in the ruck at over 3 points per game above league average. In hs last two games against the Hawks, Cameron has beaten them soundly with scores of 109 and 112.

Weather Report for Friday 29th May
15 degrees, cloudy with a possible shower. Keep an eye on the weather close to the bounce but I wouldn’t expect any major impact from a fantasy perspective given it is at the MCG.
