The Field
As always, the Wyndham Championship delivers one of the deepest and most motivated fields of the season. Every player ranked between 61st and 125th in the FedExCup standings is teeing it up, with careers and playoff dreams on the line. Expect plenty of aggressive golf as players chase valuable FedExCup points.
Cameron Young headlines the field after an outstanding 2026 campaign that has already produced two victories. Aaron Rai, Justin Thomas, Ben Griffin, Hideki Matsuyama, Ryan Gerard and Tom Kim also feature, while Brooks Koepka faces the daunting task of needing a huge week from outside the current top 70.
Several players arrive carrying strong momentum. Jackson Koivun continues his remarkable rookie season after winning the 3M Open, while Ben Kohles, Blades Brown and Zac Blair have all pieced together impressive summer runs that have earned them another opportunity on the PGA TOUR.
The Course
Sedgefield Country Club has been a staple of the Wyndham Championship since 2008 and remains one of the PGA TOUR's best Donald Ross designs. Measuring just over 7,100 yards, it places far greater emphasis on precision than power.
Small, undulating greens reward elite iron play, while finding fairways is critical to creating birdie opportunities. Although accuracy is important, scoring remains exceptionally low, with the winning score reaching at least 20-under par in eight of the past 10 editions.
Players who consistently gain strokes with their approach play and convert plenty of birdie chances tend to thrive here. It's a venue where confidence with the putter can quickly turn a good week into a tournament-winning performance.

Cameron Young
Cameron Young finally returns to the site of his maiden PGA TOUR victory, and what a 12 months it has been since that breakthrough. He's added two more wins this season along with a pair of podium finishes in the majors, cementing himself among the game's elite. Fresh off a T8 at the Rocket Classic, highlighted by a brilliant second-round 61, Young arrives with form, confidence and outstanding course history, making him the player to beat.
Ben Griffin
The North Carolina native always seems to bring his best to Sedgefield Country Club. While he hasn't quite replicated the incredible heights of his 2025 campaign, Griffin still sits comfortably inside the FedExCup top 40 and boasts an outstanding course record of fourth, T7 and T11 in four appearances. On a layout that rewards elite wedge play and putting, he shapes as a genuine contender.
Wyndham Championship Value Bets
Bud Cauley
One of the best comeback stories on TOUR this season continues to build momentum. Since capturing an emotional breakthrough victory at the RBC Canadian Open, Cauley has added two top-20 finishes from his last four starts and continues to strike the ball beautifully. He's also 5-for-10 at Sedgefield with three top-15 finishes, making him a terrific value option.
Kristoffer Ventura
Ventura's opportunity came through an unusual twist after Zurich Classic partner Kristoffer Reitan withdrew, but he had already played his way into contention with an excellent T5 finish at the Rocket Classic. That result gives him three top-15 finishes from his last four starts, and his confidence is clearly growing at exactly the right time. If his recent ball-striking continues, he's more than capable of outperforming his odds.
