PGA Tour John Deere Classic Betting Preview

The PGA TOUR heads to Silvis, Illinois this weekend for one of the most beloved stops on the calendar, the John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run.

With the FedExCup Playoffs fast approaching, opportunities are beginning to disappear for players chasing postseason positions and career-defining victories. The John Deere has long been a launching pad for future stars, and this year's field blends established winners with some of the brightest young talents in the game.

PGA Tour John Deere Classic Betting Preview

TPC Deere Run, Thursday 2 - Sunday 5 July

The Field

One of the biggest storylines this week is the professional debut of Jackson Koivun. The Auburn superstar earned his PGA TOUR card through PGA TOUR University Accelerated and arrives after one of the most decorated collegiate careers in recent memory. Koivun finished T11 here as an amateur last year and has already proven he belongs at the highest level following a T23 finish at the U.S. Open.

Youth is a major theme throughout the field, with Luke Clanton and Blades Brown also teeing it up. Brown accepted Special Temporary Member status earlier this season and continues to impress, while Clanton joins Koivun as another PGA TOUR University graduate expected to make plenty of noise in the coming years.

The experienced contingent is equally impressive. Jordan Spieth returns to one of his favourite venues, where he claimed his first PGA TOUR victory as a teenager in 2013 before winning again in 2015. Ben Griffin, Keegan Bradley, Rickie Fowler, Chris Gotterup and defending champion Brian Campbell headline a field packed with players capable of going extremely low around TPC Deere Run.

The Course

TPC Deere Run remains one of the PGA TOUR's premier birdie-making venues. The par-71 layout stretches to 7,327 yards and offers players numerous risk-reward opportunities, with winning scores regularly pushing beyond 20-under par.

The course features dramatic elevation changes throughout, a byproduct of its history as a former Arabian horse farm. While players can attack plenty of pins, poor decisions are often punished, making course management just as important as aggressive play.

One notable change for 2026 comes at the par-4 fourth hole, where the loss of a historic tree has resulted in nearly 40 additional yards being added via a newly constructed tee box. Even so, TPC Deere Run should once again reward elite approach play and hot putting, with another low-scoring shootout expected this weekend.

Ben Griffin

Proof that nobody is truly safe in a shootout, Griffin arrives at Deere Run in excellent form despite last year's surprising missed cut following his breakout stretch. The American has recorded two third-place finishes, two top-10s and another pair of top-20 results over the last two months, showcasing the consistency that has elevated him into one of the TOUR's most reliable performers. His T5 on debut here in 2024 proves the course suits his eye.

Keegan Bradley

Bradley returns to the John Deere Classic for the first time in a decade after another solid performance at the Travelers Championship, where he defended his title admirably with a T14 finish. Since the Masters, he has produced five top-25 results and continues to rank among the elite ball-strikers on TOUR. If the putter cooperates, his tee-to-green excellence should create plenty of scoring opportunities.

PGA John Deere Classic Value Bets

Tom Kim

Tom Kim reminded everyone of his enormous talent with a brilliant solo third at the U.S. Open. After a relatively slow start to 2026, the young Korean has rediscovered his best golf with three top-15 finishes in his last five starts. Confidence is clearly building, and his elite iron play and creativity around the greens make him a dangerous proposition in what should become another birdie-fest.

Blades Brown

The 19-year-old phenom continues to build an impressive resume across both the PGA TOUR and Korn Ferry Tour. With the Korn Ferry schedule taking a break this week, Brown has another opportunity to add valuable FedExCup-equivalent points as a non-member. Since his T3 finish at the Puerto Rico Open, he has made 10 cuts from 11 starts while recording eight top-20 finishes, underlining both his immense talent and growing consistency.
