PGA Tour: Procore Championship Betting Tips
Silverado Resort & Spa, California, Thursday 12th – Sunday 15th September
Scottie Scheffler capped off one of the more dominant PGA Tour seasons in history a few weeks ago as he lifted the FedEx Cup after claiming a four stroke win at the Tour Championship. Scheffler, as well as the majority of the top ranked players in the world will opt out of the season opening event, as the next stretch of golf, named the ‘FedEx Cup Fall’, gives the players still competing for their 24-25 Tour Card the opportunity to accumulate the all important points needed.
The Field
While the majority of the field will be made up of lower tier players fighting for FedEx Cup points, there are still some big names competing this week. Sahith Theegala, Wyndham Clark, Corey Conners, Max Homa and Min Woo Lee headline those names.
Two of those players in Homa and Theegala, are responsible for the last three victories at Silverado, with the former claiming the trophy last year while Homa won back to back events in 21-22. Other winners at Silverado who will be teeing it up this week include Stewart Cink, Cameron Champ and Kevin Tway.
The Course
The North Course at the Silverado Spa & Resort in Napa, California will host the Procore Championship as it has every year since back in the 2015 season when it was named the Frys.com Open.
The Course opened in 1955 and was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. Due to extensive wildfires in the California area in 2017 resulting in the course being damaged, it underwent a makeover which in turn, made it more playable for the modern-day pro golfer.
The course plays as a Par 72 at just over 7,100 yards and favours strong players from tee-to-green.
Betting Tips
Max Homa ($25/Top 20 $2.15)
Has been scrappy over the last few months and not overall in the best form. Was recently selected as a captains pick for the Presidents Cup despite the poor form and I think he will come out with a point to prove here. Two time winner at Silverado, so no issues with course knowledge.
Rico Hoey ($76/Top 20 $3.40)
Almost certainly a name you haven’t heard before. Looking way down the list for a little value in the Philippine rookie here. Had a horror run to start the season but has found some real form in the last few months, making six straight cuts including a T6 at the Rocket Mortgage and a T8 at the Barracuda.
