We’ve got two cracking matches to close out round 19 as the Dragons take on the Titans while the Bulldogs go head to head with the Sharks. Both games will be played on the Gold Coast due to the COVID restrictions in place at the moment but look to be interesting matchups in their own right.

Dragons vs Titans
Cbus Super Stadium, Sunday July 25th, 1.50pm (AEST)
Both these teams come into this match off the back of the big losses, with the Dragons being beaten comfortably by Manly while Gold Coast went down by 18 points to Parramatta. These two sides have both been tough to follow this season, with inconsistency plaguing their respective performances. The Dragons sit just inside the top eight while the Titans are running 11th but are still in the hunt for finals footy.
These two teams are yet to meet this season and as their position on the ladder suggest, it will be a closely fought match. The Dragons have put in some strong performances this season and I am expecting them to bounce back with their position in the top eight up for grabs. They have showed signs of life in recent weeks and have been boosted by the exciting play of Tyrell Sloan and other young blood in the side.
The Titans have been tough to follow and some weeks they look like competing with the top sides in the comp while other nights they look like they’d struggle to beat the cellar dwellers on the ladder. They clearly have the roster to compete and just need to be able to put it all together throughout 80 minutes.
Expecting the Dragons have a bit more to play for and they will come out on top in a close one.
Bulldogs vs Sharks
Cbus Super Stadium, Sunday July 25th, 4.05pm (AEST)
The Bulldogs continue to struggle this year and while they competed early on against the Bunnies last week, were simply outclassed for the majority of the match. The Sharks are on the edge of the eight and will be desperate for a win here with such a closely contested middle of the table. The Sharks have also been plagued by inconsistency as well and have been struggling to string two wins in a row together.
I’m expecting the Sharks to have a bit too much firepower with Shaun Johnson continuing to guide his side around the park well. The Dogs have showed fight throughout this season and especially in the last couple of weeks but they seem to lack that killer instinct in the final third of the field.
I think this match will be closer than many are anticipating and the bookies have probably got them too far apart with the prices at the moment. With that being said I’m going to back the Sharks to win in a tight match.
