NBA Playoffs Betting Tips: Monday April 25th

Golden State Warriors at Denver Nuggets

Ball Arena, 5:30am AEST

We finally got a close contest in this series with Game 3 being decided by just five points. The Warriors came from behind late in the fourth quarter to eventually get the chocolates and take a commanding 3-0 lead. On top of that, their winning streak improved to eight, while the Nuggets have now lost four straight games.

In more positive news for the Warriors, they have a fully fit roster heading into Monday’s Game 4, which certainly hasn’t been a luxury they’ve had in recent seasons. On the other hand, the Nuggets continue to play without stars Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. who continue to rehab from long-term injuries.

No team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in the playoffs to go onto win the series and I’m pretty confident in saying it won’t happen in this series. The Warriors just have far too much firepower on offence for the undermanned Nuggets to handle and I think they finish the sweep on Monday, covering the small spread in the process.

Golden State Warriors -4.5

Miami Heat at Atlanta Hawks

State Farm Arena, 9am AEST

The Hawks showed they still have a chance in this series when they recorded a clutch one-point win at home in Game 3. That win came after they were thoroughly outplayed in the first two games, a lot of which had to do with the poor play of Trae Young. He got back to his usual fantastic self last time out with 24 points and eight assists, while Tyler Herro led the scoring for the Heat with 24 points of his own.

The Heat have quite a few players under an injury cloud at the moment, but none have been ruled out as of yet. Bam Adebayo and Kyle Lowry are the key guys currently listed as a toss-up, but you would expect they’ll both be suiting up. For the Hawks, Lou Williams remains on the sidelines and Clint Capela is questionable to play.

The Hawks would’ve gained a lot of confidence from their nail-biting win in Game 3, but backing it up again on Monday is a totally new challenge. I expect a coach as good as Erik Spoelstra to make the necessary adjustments to get the game back on the Heat’s terms and to be able to get his side back on the winners list.

Miami Heat -2

$1.90

Phoenix Suns at New Orleans Pelicans

Smoothie King Center, 11:30am AEST

After suffering a surprise loss in Game 2 as well as losing Devin Booker to injury, the Suns rallied hard in Game 3 to overpower the young Pelicans and go up 2-1 in the series. Chris Paul was at his clutch best with 28 points and 14 assists, as well as going his second straight game without committing a turnover. Brandon Ingram tried his best for the home side with 34 points, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough.

As mentioned above, the Suns lost Booker to injury in Game 2 and he won’t be returning for at least another game as he continues to rehab his hamstring. He joins Dario Saric as the only other Suns player forced to the sidelines. The Pelicans have a healthy roster at the moment but continue to play without Zion Williamson who’s missed the whole season.

There would’ve been alarm bells ringing for the defending Western Conference champions had the Pelicans won Game 3 and gone up 2-1 in the series, however that wasn’t the case and the Suns will be favourites to win again on Monday as a result. I thought the Suns were over the odds last time out and that sentiment hasn’t changed ahead of Game 4. I Like them to cover the small spread once again here.

Phoenix Suns -2.5
